"Iron Army" Zelda is a Marine who primarily works and travels around the Grandline. After being captured by pirates and subjected to strange treatment, she lost all her original joy from her childhood and became almost nothing more than a weapon. However, during an encounter in the church, she dedicated herself to the faith of the gods and the belief that she was the judge of good and evil, punisihng and purging the sinners, especially the criminals of the sea.

This led her to join the Marines at a young age, following Taner and becoming one of his closest subordinates and partners, their bond strengthening when they participated in the war and fought on Evrim against Amelia and her army from the Animal Kingdom. Because she not only survived the battle, but also helped defeat the pirates, she was given the rank of Rear Admiral.

Appearance[]

Zelda is a woman of average build, no different in size or shape from other normal people. Originally, in her childhood, she had blue eyes and blue hair, both the exact same color as the sky on a clear day.

During an encounter in the past, after she was captured by pirates and underwent a stragne treatment, her body changed completely, her fingers became pointed, while her hands were completely covered in black and black veins sprouted through her arm. The same black color spread to her eyes, while the iris became blood red and cross-shaped, giving her a demonic aura. Her hair color became completely white and silver, all the blue from her childhood was gone.

She usually wears fairly formal clothes, usually matching her hair color or with some sort of black in it. However, she usually doesn't care what she wears as long as it covers most of her skin and she tries to hide what's under her clothes.

Personality[]

Zelda is primarily a person who looks like a cold person on the outside, reinforced by her general abnormal appearance that makes it hard for normal people to approach her, either out of fear or disgust of interacting with her at all. This has led to her being rather aloof herself and having an aura of coldness around her, mostly stemming from not really knowing or struggling to understand how social interactions work, beyond order and respect, even if she did her best to learn it slowly, leading to an awkward atmosphere when interacting with others beyond the chain of command with people closer to her.

While the coldness mostly just stemmed from Zelda not knowing how else to act, the coldness towards pirates and other criminals became a reality as she labeled them “sinners” who should be exterminated. The hatred for pirates stemmed from her past when she was kidnapped and lost her family, while she joined the church after being rescued and her traumatized mind mixed with the beliefs of her religion, resulting in most criminals of the sea being nothing but spawns of the devil in her eyes. However, this has slowly subsided thanks to the efforts of her supervisor and his friend, so that she is now less bloodthirsty and blindly priestly, but can at least think before she acts in most cases. The after-effect, however, is that when Zelda has to deal with pirates, she either becomes colder and more callous or becomes angry and swears like a sailor, which is neither in keeping with her position as a marine nor her belief in religion and God.

Thanks to her experiences in the war, she has also developed a slightly racist behavior towards the minks, causing her to snap at them much more easily and sometimes even equate them with the so-called “sinners”. Hybrids are no exception, with her getting angry and obviously treating them a bit worse, as she showed towards Artemis D. Samantha, where she not only treated her like an inferior being, but even threatened her, albeit with minimal effect.[2] However, the racism is very unstable, as it quickly dissipates when she begins to sympathize with the minks, making her see them as normal humans again. This was evident in her interaction with Samantha, as soon as Samantha revealed her past, she not only showed clear sympathy for her fellow half-mink, but also apologetic behavior as she obviously felt bad for threatening her before.[3]

In other cases where her mask cracks, she acts completely out of character when she receives compliments or flirtations from other female marines, which quickly embarrasses her as not only does she handle it poorly as she can't tell if it's a sincere comment or a taunt, but also shows that she is actually attracted to the female gender. This even goes so far that while it is unable to help “sinners” to distract her, it helps in every other case, even as a mink used by Samantha when she flirts with her, which leaves Zelda angry and embarrassed as she is no longer able to face the half-mink for a while, but at least doesn't treat her any worse, the racism she had before is quickly gone.[4]

Powers & Abilities[]

Overview[]

Physical Abilities[]

Rokushiki[]

Further information: Rokushiki

As a marine, Zelda learned the techniques of Rokushiki, which she not only mastered, but also combined with her abilities as a devil fruit.

Shigan[]

Shigan is one of the more practiced techniques of Rokushiki that Zelda learned, one of the techniques she used in combination with her Devil Fruit ability. For example, she can create armored gloves, regardless of size, that mimic her own hand movement by using the Shigan technique to make them extremely fast and deadly without having to engage in hand-to-hand combat, as long as she can anticipate where her glove should hit by moving her hand in that direction.[5]

Devil Fruit[]

Main article: Kyo Kyo no Mi

Amidst her time serving under the marines Zelda at some point ate the Kyo Kyo no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, which allows her to summon and control knight gear, able to form an army of bodyless soldiers, making her a Knight Human.

Trainig it up to the absolute limit, Zelda reduced the exhaustion of spwaning the items and not only increased the quantity, but also the quality and varity, able to create whole armies of knight armor and weapons, which she can control whenever she want, which gave her the ephitet, "Iron Army". She showed the development and testing of the limits of her fruit even in her younger years, being able to discover that not only can she create the knights from the same material, but also on material she has touched before, being able to copy material she didn't even know about.[6]

Haki[]

Kenbunshoku Haki[]

Thanks to her focus on her Devil Fruit skill, she developed a great sense of Kenbunshoku Haki and tried to develop it to utilize her Devil Fruit perfectly. She was able to manifest it on a level, able to create weapons out of thin air to either better block incoming attacks or anticipate the movements of her enemies to direct the attacks in her direction, either as flying spears or raised shields. This attack pattern is particularly evident in their use in multiple attacks or quick scene changes in battle with Gladius Constantine.[7]

Zelda also showed a rare sight of seeing a distorted and strange sliver of the future after witnessing a scene where Goddard D. Delight was about to be killed by Gladius Constantine, only to be reminded of an unknown scene from her past, experiencing the distorted future as a flashback of sorts.[8]

Demons and Knights[]

Further information: Demons and Knights

After capturing the pirate, who had a bounty of Beli80,000,000 on his head, she encountered the samurai, Ryosei, who seemed strange and somewhat unsure of her behavior, so she became suspicious of him before attacking him. Aside from being very strong for her young age, she didn't think the fight was a real contest or even a threat to the samurai, no matter how much she adapted to his fighting style. However, it didn't take long for her to calm down before they exchanged information with each other, clearing up the confusion that Ryosei was cursed for other reasons and not what Zelda believed. Even though she tried a few times to touch the blade or find out something about it, it led to almost no success.

Finally, after getting drunk on a simple drink, Zelda wanted to try something and asked Ryosei to help her so she could test something out. While the knights still fell like pieces of cheese, even when she summoned a hundred, it became obvious that everyone was adapting to Ryosei's fighting style, with the last one she wore herself before fighting the samurai and actually keeping up. That changed when the curse of his blade hit her, causing her to suffer some unknown trauma from her past, causing her to accidentally touch the blade while she was a complete mess of emotions. Beside her vulnerability, the samurai showed kindness to her and used his powers to heal her from the trauma.

After they parted on good terms and promised to see each other again in the future, Zelda became insanely aggressive and angry with herself on the ship, showing weakness towards a person, only for her to cough up blood violently before summoning a knight made of a different material. When she tried it out and found that her normal knight could not only scratch it but even broke into pieces, she realized that she had copied the material used for the samurai's blade.
