Current User Seere

The Tou Tou no Mi is a Paramecia-Type Devil Fruit that allows the user to touch an object and spread it outward, turning it into a spherical cloak that surrounds the user in order to protect their body, making the user into a Cloak Human (とう間, Tou Ningen). These cloaks can vary in size and makeup depending on the object and the amount of stamina someone puts into making one, but at the minimum it always provide a good defense against attacks while also following the user.

It was eaten by Seere, a Senior Officer of the Legion Pirates.

Etymology[]

  • "Tou" comes from the Japanese pronunciation of "Cloak".
  • In the VIZ manga and Funimation dub, it is called the Cloak-Cloak Fruit.

Appearance[]

The Tou Tou no Mi is a extremely disappointing fruit, in that it is simply a large purple watermelon Fruit that is completely hollowed leaving only the outer shell of the melon to be consumed. While the outer layer looks like a solid purple melon, on the inside the signature swirls of a Devil Fruit can be seen. In addition to this, the stem is a easy identifier as it is split into three different curls, each going in a different direction.

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

The Tou Tou no Mi's primary strength comes from it's ability to create cloaks out of objects. By creating a energy around their palm and touching a object while said palm is coated with energy, it will cause a complete shift in it's structural makeup, hollowing it out and spreading it like a fabric around the user as a sort of cloak. These cloaks, no matter what they are made of are always incredibly durable, capable of surviving almost any blow that comes into contact with, though depending on the object used there are still limits to what it can handle such as a paper cloak burning away from fire or a metal cloak rusting away.

Depending on the object used to create a cloak, these cloaks are able to have special properties that can have a effect on how useful it can be. A Cloak made from a balloon can be used by the user in order to fly, using the helium on the inside of the cloak in order to reduce gravity enough to send people into the air. Creating a cloak from metal meanwhile means it can be charged up by electricity, allowing the user to absorb electric shocks and use them to their advantage all through a metal object.

These cloaks extend around the user in a range of 10 Tou Tous on average. They also center in on the user, following them around and ensuring they are always at the center of a Cloak. This of course has exceptions, such as cases where the user is knocked off their feet and through the air, where they'll hit the edge of a cover if they travel far enough before anything resets. In this way, the user is able to not just lock people outside on command by making a cloak, it can also trap people within the cloak, preventing them from leaving while the user still has control over all of the cloaks that they make.

The Tou Tou no Mi has a limited usefulness in regards to offense, but the fact that this ability can work on jagged and sharp objects such as blades does give it a sort of fighting deterrant. One weakness without upsides however is the fact that while things can't get into a Cloak without the permission of the user, the same can be said of objects besides the user who find themselves within the Cover, who can't get back out Aside from this, the user suffers from usual Devil Fruit weaknesses.
