“ | I’m protecting this island and its people out of pride and principle. If I allow you to waltz in here and dismantle everything I've built, it would be a betrayal of everything I stand for. It would make me no different than a puppet, bowing to Caesar’s will like everyone else. I refuse to be that kind of man—a figurehead who submits to tyranny without a fight. | ” |

Tiberius[5] is a prince of Dressrosa and son of Yonko, Gladius Caesar[6]. Among Gladius' offspring, he is renowned for his unyielding ambition, harboring an a great and unmanageable thirst to forge his own empire.
Due to this Tiberius is rarely seen on Dressrosa[7], instead he is usually found conquering islands for his own empire with his personal legions. After several of his machinations Tiberius bounty jumped from 296,000,000 to 350,000,000.
He is currently the Emperor of the Tiberius Empire, an empire separate from the Legion Pirates and Dressrosa.
Appearance[]
Tiberius stands at a good 6'6" with a tall and muscular physique that speaks volumes of a lifetime of battles. His hair is black, short and spiky while also being kept in a crew cut hairstyle. His body is like a giant map of scar upon scar, each telling a different story of various different conflicts. The most noticeable of these is a large lacerated scar running across his nose, a reminder of a fight that he had against his younger brother Aurelius[8].
Clad in black armor, Tiberius moves with an implausible combination of strength and agility for his size. The armor, is crafted to endure even the most ferocious of blows, adds to his intimidating presence. His eyes are cold and calculating and seem to pierce through the very souls of whoever dares meet his gaze.
Personality[]
Tiberius revels in the rumbles of war, satisfying his hunger with the clashing steel, and the frenzy of combat. A good fight for him is not a mere test of ability and wills but a passion that fires his very soul and being. The rush of adrenaline, the sound of clashing steel, and the smell of sweat and blood stirs up something feral within him. For Tiberius, each conflict and battle is an opportunity to test himself, a process of refinement of his skills, and to tap into the living moment without conceptual interference. His philosophy is brutal: injury and death are inevitable actions that will occur in the pursuit of such electrifying encounters, and he absorbs these terrible realities as would-be un-perturbed rock weathered by crashing waves of eventual desolation, further setting in him his commitment to the path of the warrior.
Despite Tiberius' brutal reputation in battles, he has an astonishing code of honor to himself: he will not continue a fight with someone who has been incapacitated or otherwise incapable of defending themselves, finding such actions dishonorable for him. This code is anchored by deep-seated respect for the art of combat and for his adversaries, recognizing that real warriors have become entitled to a dignified end. He believes that victory without honor is empty and that it is integrity and equity that command respect from friend and foe alike, even in the most confusing theatres of war.
Tiberius stands out above all by his reluctance to turn his back on children. This is, though he is a seasoned warrior, in the face of childhood innocence and childlike vulnerability that rings a chord deep within him. He despises the very thought of the badly influencing or the annihilation of childly lives and innocence[9]. When children are about, the bloodthirsty combat instinct that characterizes him is replaced by a benevolent watchfulness[10]. For Tiberius, children are purity, future ideals that demand to be protected even when the world is dominated by violence.
Besides his ability in warfare, Tiberius also commands attention not only by his innate charisma and natural leadership but also by the virtue of his presence alone, which rallies allies and strikes terror into the hearts of inferior men, all traits of a of a naturally born leader. His fierce look coupled with a regal aura creates inspiring loyalty in those he leads, not just for his excellence in war but because of his vision and strength of purpose to lead them on.
The impact of Tiberius reaches further than the immediate theater of war. His mind, subtle and far-sighted, enables him to plan and execute campaigns so that his forces are always one step ahead of those of their enemies. He tries to cement a very strong comrade-like feeling and mutual respect in the ranks of his men, to contribute to the unity and wholeness of a potentially fruitful military force. With his ability to inspire and motivate by good examples, he remains a revered and influential leader, his influence extending far out after the echoes of battle have died down.
Tiberius values pride above all[11] and, perhaps, "pride" turned in upon itself is the only thing that seemed to allow him to understand his own behavior. To Tiberius, pride does not imply merely one's accomplishments, it constitutes for deeper reason of being, self and personality[12]. Tiberius respects his honor and dignity highly, considering that these are the essences of manhood itself. Such pride obligates him to maintain his dignity and standards even while under threat from powers even greater than himself.[13]
Tiberius is a very hard-headed individual who is always committed to his beliefs, no matter what external pressures may be upon him as he views a man that does not stand on his beliefs, is a man unfit to live.[13]
Relationships[]
Family[]
Gladius Caesar[]
Sejanus[]
Tiberius thinks of Sejanus as not only his friend but rather as his one true brother. Their bond goes so deep that many think they are related by blood in some way shape or form. Tiberius and Sejanus have such a bond that both of them would entrust his life to the other without a moment's hesitation. This is because they have fought with each other for years and in that time their bond has been sharpened to the greatest edge.
For Tiberius, Sejanus is more than a companion but one of the only people in his life that drives him. His dream of building an empire, vast and unyielding, was all that gave meaning to his lifeline. Yet, Sejanus has become one of the few people that Tiberius trusted nearly to that extent. In Sejanus, Tiberius has seen the embodiment of his own hope, strength, and purpose. He approaches it with determination, because he realizes that the rise of the empire would be unbearably difficult without Sejanus.
Orion[]
To Tiberius, Orion is a sweet yet sometimes irritating younger brother. As the youngest, Orion tends to have an easygoing playfulness. Tiberius sometimes will indulge him in a more or less supportive way. Their relationship is characterized by frequent good-natured teasing such as small pranks that Orion and Tiberius play on each other with not a little annoyance of Sejanus, who finds himself on occasion playing the referee. From switching companions' armor to minor practical jokes, their prankster-like ways serves to counterbalance their otherwise serious journey.
Tiberius may tease Orion while they joke around. However, he has complete respect for him as a warrior. Underneath Orion's pranks lays a whole cavern of bravery and battle skill that demands respect; and Tiberius observes the raw furnace of potential lying within this younger brother of his. While Orion may indeed have the title for being one of the youngest among the active men and certainly the youngest of the three, Tiberius is well aware that he is also quite devoted to the cause and to their survival. During the challenge of battle, this bond swings from playful to fierce loyalty, where each one of them might well stand down their life for the other.

Abilities & Powers[]
Physical Abilities[]
Tiberius possesses a strength beyond that known to most men, thus establishing his high rank as the most potent soldiers of his Empire. Tiberius's prowess really manifests itself through this displays of almost inhuman strength when dealing with fearsome enemies and riding the storm of their blows, irrespective of their size or efficiency, using nothing but his own natural ability[14]. It was this innate strength that guided him since his teenage years, when he could yet hold praises of his very own, driving off potential adversaries even while he sailed through the treacherous waters of the New World and Paradise.
Even in his teenage years, Tiberius already commanded a formidable reputation for his manly strength among his peers and mentors. Stories quickly traveled: how he could lift boulders larger than his own body, split wooden training dummies with a single blow, and hold up under the combined assault of multiple attackers without shedding doubt. His physical might is not merely a product of his natural abilities, but also a result of his unflinching willingness to endure the ravages of the grueling training he put himself through.
Even now, Tiberius is often called a monster due to his physical strength. His physical power is legendary-and with it, he brought forth all kinds of deeds said to have functionally silence any spectators watching him. With one strong blow, he can part an island as if it were paper[15]. Tiberius strength has grown to the point that even a vastly influential and powerful Vice Admirals such as Hector Hobbs, acknowledge and congratulate his physical power[16].
Beside his colossal strength, Tiberius is known for one great feature, his extraordinary speed, mainly thanks to the incredible strength of his legs[17]. This swiftness enables him to run at amazing speed, leap great distances[18], and twist and turn while dashing through pain[19]. Impeding him seems to be a pure function of his powerhouse muscle. It is the combination of both training and conditioning-resistance training/endurance work/and rainy days spent running/that factors in allowing for such amazing reflexes, coordination, and balance[20]. While diving into the fray or darting in between a flurry of attacks[19], Tiberius moves with a lightning-fast flow, embodying him with all the qualities of fluidity despite his huge stature.
Moreover, Tiberius is endowed with immense physical stamina, which allows him to fight on for extended periods without complications. Indeed, his endurance is strengthened by exercising a mind discipline that comes from keeping awake beyond normal hours to improve focus and vigilance for whatever challenges might come up. This mental endurance favors him with a good deal of composure and calmness under the pressure of battle, making him very capable of making calculated decisions and executing complex maneuvers with textbook perfection. He is as much psychologically able as he is physically capable, as he holds the mind for the sheer pressure of battle and maintains its edge over the fight long after the others sink into compliance and defeate.
When it comes to durability and reflexes, Tiberius demonstrates immense amounts of physical durability in addition to his natural physical skills. His body has been honed through combat training to take a certain amount of pummeling before becoming useless. It could be shown that this is very effective when he did not die instantly from an advanced Haoshoku attack from Baal, showcasing astonishing durability[21].
Numerous battles raging during Tiberius's years of combat have left his muscles and bones with toughness against injury. He has conditioned his reflexes to the degree that the body reacts with incredible speed to perceived threats, moving through instinctive actions with exact defensive moves[22]. The reaction time-changing from countering a sword thrust to avoiding flying projectiles-says much for Tiberius's unmatched combat skills and keen awareness of the environment.
This amazing reaction time was shown during his battle with Kairos Andromeda, with Tiberius countering and parry her slashes, despite them being invisible.[23]
Swordsmanship[]
Tiberius is a swordsman who holds very few equals worldwide and has a reputation that has scaled across the seas. He is thus the best fighter to be characterized as a twin of the style he uses, which is both rigid and flexible at the same time and is something he has mastered. Hence, Tiberius can fight against many foes at once. The flexibility of Tiberius makes it possible for him to deliver blows at very high speed due to his movements being near flawless and very fast, which allows him to quickly and effectively parry and counter his opponents.
Speed, both defensively and offensively, is the core of Tiberius's impressive strength. He seems to be able to parry and react to attacks with reflexes that are almost instantaneous, he almost seems to anticipate the blows as he is there to intercept them. This ability carries over to his counterattacks, which are carried out with ruthless efficiency and no wasted movement, making his defense an extension of offence.[22].
Techniques[]
- Obsidian Spear: The Obsidian Spear is all about accuracy, thrusts, Tiberius channeling all of his strength, all of his Haki, into one concentrated blow[24]. It is named after the look his blade assumes during the attack - it becomes a dark, almost obsidian-like colour because of the sheer quantity of Haki it is wrapped in. This technique focuses on penetration, capable of piercing through even the toughest defenses, such as armor imbued with Haki or crystalline barriers like Auerlius's[25].
Kitsunebi-Ryu[]
Kitsunebi-Ryu is a style of swordsmanship that allows the user to cut through flames[26] and explosions while remaining perfectly safe. Tiberius, as a user of this style is also capable of generating flames which he can then use offensively to attack opponents. This style was taught to him by Hanamura Juzo during the War of Empires.
Kumodo[]
Kumodo is a relentless sword style that enables Tiberius to strike with devastating precision and agility, bypassing his opponents’ defenses and leaving wounds that bleed profusely.
Techniques[]
- Joro Slash: Combining Kumodo's aggressive tenets with his own brute force, Tiberius makes a strong, sweeping cut that creates a whirlwind of slicing air around his sword. This blow does not just strike an enemy's body directly, but also sends shards of cutting air that cut shallow gashes across a large area, leaving wounds that bleed profusely and make it harder for his opponents to approach.
Mushido[]
Mushido is the sister style of Kumodo and allows Tiberius to enter a calm, instinct-driven state, enhancing his defensive and evasive capabilities to protect himself against the fiercest of attacks, bolstering his already great defense even more.
Techniques[]
- Impenetrable Shell: With this technique, Tiberius amplifies his awareness and reflexes to create a near-impenetrable zone around him, instinctively blocking, deflecting, or evading any incoming attack with minimal movement. This technique allows him to conserve energy while remaining immovable, often intimidating opponents into hesitating.
Unarmed Combat[]
Tiberius’s ability to fight does not only include the consideration of a sword in his hand; he is a;sp very proficient in engaging in close quarters combat, an unfortunate trait of those that would fight him as that makes him very hard opponent to plan against regardless of whether he has his sword with him or not.
As for the scrimmages of a personal kind, Tiberius manages to deploy an elaborate yet straightforward approach that makes the best of his speed and build. His motions tend to be not just fluid, but exact, incorporating a powerful combination of strikes, blocks, and grappling. It is this fluidity that allows him to very quickly adjust and switch to different types of enemies and situations, taking full advantage of the weakness and gaps to be found in his opponents.
Tiberius shows one of the best physical capabilities to successfully engage in unarmed fighting which is raw, natural power. This power gives strength and energy to punches as well as kicks which could knock down enemies with a great amount of impact. Because of his great agility and speed, the attacks of his opponents are usually countered, and or blocked, which allows Tiberius to maintain his advantages in a fight. Additionally, Tiberius' skills in unarmed combat are further complemented with great perception of the environment and situational awareness. He has a good sense of timings and space, which helps him identify what the opponent is doing and respond accordingly.
Techniques[]
- Diamond Descent: This technique is an elbow strike that carries the full weight of Tiberius strength and Busoshoku Haki. It was designed to crush any opponent beneath its force, as if the wrath of the heavens themselves were bearing down.[27]
Haki[]
Tiberius is now one of the few people in the world that possess all forms of Haki.
Busoshoku Haki[]
It has been shown a number of times that Tiberius has a near perfect control of Busoshoku Haki. This type of Haki increases the effectiveness of his offensive and defensive maneuvers through an unnoticeable obsidian layer. When Tiberius engages his Armament Haki, his limbs or weapons are dramatically increased in both offensive and defensive ability, thus upping the potency of blows and endurance exponentially[28]. This makes it feasible for him to bypass the defensive abilities Logia users, as well as cause injuries to their physical bodies[29].
Kenbunshoku Haki[]
While being the weaker of his Haki, Tiberius possesses an exceptional proficiency in Observation Haki, also known as Kenbunshoku Haki. This ability grants him heightened sensory awareness[30], allowing him to perceive the presence, emotions, and intentions[31] of others even before they make a move. Tiberius' has also used this ability to close the gap when going against opponents with a speed advantage.
Haoshoku Haki[]
Tiberius possesses the rare ability to use Haoshoku Haki, possessing the qualities to be a "king" and designating him a Supreme Ruler. Tiberius awakened the ability during his fight with Baal [32]. Even after awakening it only a few seconds ago, Tiberius was able to use Haoshoku at will to break Baal's ice[33].
Equipment[]
Aurelius's Pride: Aurelius's Pride holds Meito Grade Sword[34] status and reputation. It is a well-built big great sword that is elegantly stunning and crafted to both traditional and Tiberius's style of height and fighting trends. A Damascus grade metal which is quite rare, forms the blade making it strong, flexible and spectacular in patterns. The blade, which is slightly longer than the medium-sized ones provides an extended range for Tiberius while not making him susceptible in terms of close quarter fights.
Aurelius's Pride is a sword that has utilitarian features that could allow for the cutting of flesh or thrusting of the limbs during hand to hand combat. Polished ebony wood was used for creating the hilt of Aurelius's Pride hilt which adds both comfort and a strong grip while Tiberius is fighting. The pommel bears a lion’s head which shows the fierce, courageous and authoritative nature of a warrior king which Tiberius seeks to embody. With a strong structure and beautifully ornamental detailing, the guard of the great sword is sculpted to perfection from hardened steel.
The blade also incorporates a long and powerful chain[35] on its hilt, allowing Tiberius to have even more reach in combat.
History[]
Born to the formidable Yonko, Gladius Caesar, Tiberius entered the world with an insatiable hunger for power and dominion. From the moment he opened his eyes, a burning ambition to rule over all existence consumed him. His early years were marked by a profound lack of paternal affection, which shaped his burgeoning love for combat and strategy. As he grew, this passion extended to his father’s vast empire.
As Tiberius entered his teenage years, his ambition grew ever stronger, fueled by his father Gladius Caesar's formidable reputation and vast empire. Unlike his other siblings, the lack of paternal affection and acknowledgment didn't really bother Tiberius as he replaced it with honing his combat skills and mastering the art of strategy. He spent countless hours studying battle tactics, naval maneuvers, and the intricacies of ruling an empire, driven by a desire to establish his own dominion.
During this time, Tiberius began gathering a loyal following of skilled individuals who shared his vision. Among them were Sejanus and Orion, two exceptional talents he encountered during his travels. Sejanus, a brilliant tactician and master of subterfuge, quickly became Tiberius's right-hand man. His cunning mind and ability to manipulate situations to their advantage made him an invaluable asset. Orion, a prodigious warrior with unmatched strength and combat prowess, became Tiberius's most trusted enforcer. His unwavering loyalty and unyielding strength solidified his position within Tiberius's inner circle.
With Sejanus and Orion by his side, Tiberius ventured out into the world, determined to create an empire that would rival and eventually surpass his father's. He seeks to conquer territories, forge alliances, and expand his influence across the seas.
Brotherly Duel[]
- Main article: Brotherly Duel
The day was marked by oppressive heat and humidity, creating an atmosphere that many would find stifling. Yet, for Tiberius, it was the ideal setting for a long-anticipated duel with his half-brother, Aurelius.
As he prepared for battle, the tension in the air was palpable, and he focused intently on sharpening his sword, each stroke a reminder of the confrontation to come. Aurelius, equally eager for the fight, saw this duel as a chance to prove himself worthy of their father's affection. His confidence was buoyed by the thought that victory could elevate his status within the family. The brothers exchanged sharp words, revealing their deep-seated "rivalry" and contrasting motivations.
Tiberius dismissed Aurelius's obsession with their father's approval, while Aurelius countered with barbs about Tiberius's own failures and even his distance from the family. As the duel commenced, both brothers showcased their unique abilities. Tiberius's combat style was fluid and precise, utilizing his sword with deadly intent, while Aurelius relied on his crystalline transformations to defend and counterattack. The clash of their techniques was fierce, with Tiberius's Haki-infused strikes meeting Aurelius's crystalline defenses.
Each brother sustained injuries, yet their determination only fueled their resolve to continue the fight. The battle escalated as Tiberius managed to land a significant blow, embedding his sword deep into Aurelius's chest. Despite the pain, Aurelius demonstrated immense will power, using his powers to seal the wound and retaliate with a barrage of attacks. Tiberius, undeterred by the injury, showcased his agility and strength, deftly avoiding most of Aurelius's strikes while landing a few of his own.
As the fight progressed, Tiberius's focus sharpened, and he executed a series of rapid movements, showcasing his combat prowess. He seized an opportunity to grab Aurelius's tongue, a bold move that momentarily disrupted his brother's balance. However, Aurelius quickly adapted, severing his tongue to maintain his fighting capabilities.
The duel continued with both brothers exchanging blows, each determined to outmaneuver the other. Ultimately, Tiberius's sheer strength proved overwhelming. He managed to extract his sword from Aurelius's crystalline form, shattering the defenses that had held it in place and getting the win.
