Sinbad is a former petty officer who turned to piracy early into his career due to the injustices he faced within the system.[3]

Born in Kano Country into the Baihu family, Sinbad was raised with the expectation of becoming a great scientist. These expectations were met with great defiance, his main argument being how distant their ties were to the true figureheads of the bloodline. Despite this, the goal of a proper honest life were always thrust upon Sinbad’s shoulders.

Fighting against this notion Sinbad fostered his personal ambitions of becoming a great musican. Building up the funds independently, he pursued one of Kano’s many colleges to refine his talents. During this time, Sinbad heard and witnessed the attacks upon his lineage in the War of Empires. Wrecked with guilt, he joined the marines in 1618.

As a marine, Sinbad met with various challenges due to his own outlook on justice. The most notable of these events came from the hands of his superior Kirimoto Aphrodite who scarred half of his face as punishment for allowing a starving family off the hook. This, along with his efforts never being acknowledged led him to abandon the forces.[2] In his departure he managed to steal away the Hiyo Hiyo no Mi, consuming it in the process and becoming a Weather Human (日和人間 Hiyori Ningen?).[4]

These events garnered him a bounty of Beli35,000,000.

Appearance[]

Sinbad is a tall muscular tan man, though is often mistaken for a woman due to being assigned female at birth. He has long blonde hair that falls past his knees with the left side shaved down to expose his gold earrings, leaving the right side of his face partially covered by his bangs. His sharp eyes are a deep red, the right squinted shut from a large scar that covers the majority of his face.

In his debut, Sinbad dons a standard marine uniform briefly before changing his top to a standard black t-shirt with his dog tags hanging around his neck. He also pulls his hair out of a bun and into a ponytail.[3]

Lateron, Sinbad wears a black choker paired with a golden chain that matches his earrings. His top half is covered in bandages around his chest and arms, the right side wrapped up to his bicep while the left only goes past half of his forearm. His ensemble is completed with a loose pair of dark green cargo pants, loosely tied belt and standard military knee high boots.

Personality[]

Initially, Sinbad comes across as an angry and frustrated individual, particularly with what he perceives as disrespect.[3] However, in quick succession it is revealed that he is inherently an excitable person, often bursting with thoughts and opinions.[5] Because of this, his mind tends to drift from one idea to another, causing him to abruptly cut himself off mid-sentence.

Because of this, Sinbad seems to enjoy the company of others, even if his interactions may come off as abrasive or odd. He values connection, even if he struggles to express it in conventional ways.

One peculiar aspect of Sinbad is his habit of using scents to trigger memories.[6] Whether it's the smell of a cigarette or a particular cologne, such as when he used both to recall a location, it isn’t known why he does this.

Kirimoto Aphrodite[]

Aphrodite and Sinbad hold a very hostile, hateful relationship. Being the cause of the scar across his face, Sinbad believes Aphrodite is nothing more than an Admiral's pet. The stark division between their methods of justice is one of the many reasons he felt isolated by many of his peers. Ultimately, Sinbad considers her one of the reasons he abandoned the marines.

All-Western Rejects[]

Sinbad kicks the door open to his barracks. Full of frustration, even when acknowledging his bunkmate, he can't help but feel disrespected. Despite his perfect performance, Sinbad believes his rank doesn't reflect his efforts throughout his five years of service.[2] Just before he decides to call it quits for the evening, something sparks in Sinbad's mind that prompts him to uncharacteristically go out for a smoke.

While he busies himself attempting to power smoke a carton of cigarettes, Nero comments that he should not be stress smoking. While trying to explain that wasn't the reason,[5] the scent coming off of Nero clicked in the memory Sinbad was attempting to recall.[6] Between Sinbad's sudden boisterous attitude and Nero's quieter one, Sinbad picks him up to bring him along on his personal mission.

Sinbad walks around the base, attempting to make conversation with Nero. He makes little progress, but manages to find his way to the back of the marine base. Finally entering the upper floors, Sinbad smells around until he is interrupted by Kobai Chie who states nobody beside higher ups are meant to be present. Sinbad deflects by insisting that they were called upon to come to this particular meeting.

Upon entering the meeting by forcing themselves in, Sinbad jerks his head around to find what he was looking for. After scrambling to grab the fruit, Nero gets to it first. Pleading with him to take it, Nero agrees, and Sinbad stumbles forward to grab and consume it. Chie is ordered to stop them. When Chie tries to grab Sinbad he ends up sending an electrical current through the base that causes the power to go out. In response, Sinbad grabs both of them and runs out of the window to escape haphazardly.
