The Shitsu Shitsu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to steal a person's personality trait and infuse it into an inanimate object, therefore reanimating it, making the user a Essence-Infusing Human (エッセンス注入人間, Essensu-Chūnyū Ningen).

Etymology[]

  • Esse (エッセ) is the shortened version of Essensu (エッセンス), the Japanese word for Essence.

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

Strengths[]

The major strength of the Shitsu Shitsu no Mi is the ability to create Eidolon, creatures formed by using the personality traits of others. After imbuing an object with the personality trait taken from the living person, they utterly lose that part of their personality. By touching someone and then touching another inanimate object, the Shitsu Shitsu allows the user to animate the previously lifeless object. These creatures have a very rebellious start until trained, then become highly obedient towards the user of the fruit despite whatever personality trait they possess, the obedience staying true. As the Eidolon are animated, they gain a mind connected to that of the person who they gain a personality trait from, making them bound to each other.

Despite the Eidolon having only one major personality piece, the creatures can still engage in conversation while still adhering to their designated personality. The emotion they have corresponds with their actions with angry Eidolon being snappy and cruel while sad Eidolon are secluded and sulky. The capabilities of the Eidolon rely on their traits, the personalities deciding on whatever attributes they possess.

To be transformed into an Eidolon, the object chosen must have no intelligence and must be fully deceased and a live target to siphon a personality trait must be accessed to even transfer it over to the object. The essences chosen are categorized differently, there being three different types: Rage, Sorrow, and Intrigue. The enraged Eidolon gain a huge combat motor, being effective for battle. The sorrowful Eidolon specialize in assisting and providing insight to the user. The intrigued Eidolon become highly curious and extremely smart, serving the purpose of planning and inventing new ways of transportation, battle, and support.

The amount of skill the selected alive person has on either of the three categories of the Eidolon transfers over to the objects imbued. For example, if the user were to take a ambitious archaeologist's Intrigue, the Eidolon would gain an extremely curious nature.

Weaknesses[]

The primary weakness of this fruit is the ability to only take one single personality trait from a person, meaning the user cannot continue to steal what makes a person themselves after taking the selected trait. As the types of Eidolon fall under categories, the user can only pick one of the traits to steal from the selected victim without being able to see exactly how big the amount the target has before imbuing the object, making the ability a huge wild card in terms of effectiveness at times.

As the creatures are wild cards, the selected personality trait can be quite a hassle as a Eidolon can be too angry, too depressed, or even too adventurous to survive. The nature of them can cause them to be uncontrollable and problematic if not controlled.
