The Shiko Shiko no Mi is a Paramecia class Devil Fruit that gives the consumer the ability to control thoughts and ideas and making them tangible, making them a Idea Human (観念人間 Kan'nen Ningen). It was eaten by Marmalade.
Appearance[]
The Shiko Shiko no Mi is a green fruit in the shape of a banana with multiple stems attached to the tip. These stems are shaped like thought bubbles, and curl outward while the main stem points upward in a straight direction. Like all Devil Fruits, both the insides and outsides both possess swirls.
Etymology[]
Strengths and Weaknesses[]
First and foremost, the biggest strength of the Shiko Shiko no Mi is the ability to grasp onto the ideas and thoughts of others. By tapping onto someone's head, they can cause an idea to rise from said person's head before yanking it out and causing it to manifest in a physical form. Once a thought is pulled from somebody's head they immediately forget about it, but are otherwise unharmed due to ideas not being as essential to the body as a shadow or the soul.
After removing a thought bubble from the mind, the user can then mold it into a Thoughtform, a object or creature created from pure thought. The creature must be based from the thought that it was crafted from to a specific degree, for example a thought about a werewolf could only create a werewolf and could not be used to create a skeleton key or octopus. Thoughtforms can be made from almost any sort of thought, with the only exception being thoughts that are of concepts such as love that are intangible by nature or thoughts of other Devil Fruits whether eaten or not. These Thoughtforms are esentially physical beings and, whenever sapient are loyal to the user or someone who carries a Vivre Card of the user.
In addition to creating basic Thoughtforms, the user can also combine ideas together via folding ideas into other ideas. This strengthens the eventual Thoughtform and, if done enough times creates an entirely new lifeform from the multitude of ideas gathered into one being. This new sort of lifeform is known as a Schema and is effectively a living being made of thoughts and ideas, based off what thoughts were used to create them but are entirely sentient and capable of not just learning new ideas to add onto themselves, but even capable of learning Haki or consuming their own Devil Fruit. However, Schemas form their own loyalties as they develop, and will not necessarily be loyal to the user.
Lastly, the user is also capable of messing with their own conciousness, and is even capable of pulling it outside of their own body. With the technique Kokoro Hiku (心引く, literally meaning "Mind Pull"), she can remove her conciousness from her own body, leaving it comatose before putting it within a Thoughtform and taking full control of it. Her capabilities are only limited by the body of the Thoughtform being used, and if the Thoughtform is destroyed she can immediately jump either back into her own body or into another Thoughtform within a 50 meter radius of her core.
One of the core weaknesses of the Shiko Shiko no Mi is that once a person dies, the ideas created from that person die with it. As such, when someone dies, all Thoughtforms created from that person that are not currently part of a Schema fade away back into nothingness. A thought will also be sent back to it's original wielder should the user be knocked out or is tricked into releasing their hold on the thought. In addition, Thoughtforms can also be destroyed by incredibly loud sounds, dispersing back into nothingness when exposed to a sound as loud as a eruption or a particularly high-pitched blast of music, making musicians the bane of the User.
When it comes to Schema, due to their multitude of thoughts incorporated into their bodies, they have much greater resistance to this sound weakness and can survive dozens of loud sounds before finally dispersing. In addition, they are exempt to the rule of thoughts fading when their origin point dies, as they effectively become the new origin point of the idea due to those thoughts being core to their personality. However, because of their origin being connected to the powers of a Devil Fruit they are unable to swim and require the external application of thoughts to properly heal, new ideas replacing the old and damaged ideals in order to rebuild the user.
Other than that, the user is affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.
Usage[]
Techniques[]
- Kangaeruhito (考える人, meaning Thought Man): Marmalade reaches into someone's mind and pulls out a thought from their head. This technique is how she pulls out ideas and forms them into Thoughtforms, which she can use into a wide variety of ways such as viewing inside to check the kind of idea she pulled out, molding them into a object or figurine to display it to others, or molding it properly into a living being known as a Thoughform. The victim will forget what was pulled from their mind but will be fully conscious and aware that they had forgotten something.
- Shikogan (思考銃, meaning Thought Gun): Marmalade pulls a idea from her own head and throws it forward with the power of a Shigan. Upon leaving her body it immediately starts transforming into a Thoughtform, finishing it's conversion only after impacting and impaling the target's body or after a certain time if it misses.
- Schema: Marmalade combines the thoughts of multiple Thoughtforms together, molding them into a singular being called a Schema. While using this ability, she burns up a lot of her current thoughts in the process, giving her a sort of tunnel vision on creating this life form while also outright ignoring anything done to her in this state. It takes a hour to create a Schema, but the result is a fully living creature made of thought who is capable of crafting their own thoughts or learning their own techniques.
- Shiko Bakudan (思考爆弾, meaning Thought Bomb): Marmalade points at a Thoughform and causes a new thought to strap itself inside of it, one regarding explosive might. This detonates the Thoughtform, destroying it in order to create a big explosion that is strong enough to break large stone structures or buildings. The effects of this technique were first used during the War of Empires, where Marmalade tricked a Animal Kingdom grunt to drink a Thoughtform based on a cup of water, before detonating it inside of them.
- Kokoro Hiku (心引く, literally meaning "Mind Pull"): Marmalade pops her own mind outside of her body before placing it into one of her Thoughtforms or Schemas. This gives her complete control over the body of the Thoughtform or Schema, and allows her to manipulate their own physical form in order to suit her needs better. While in this state her physical body is unconcious, but while she is within a Thoughtform she can use all of her other techniques and can even detonate her current body, allowing her to return to her original body or jump to another Thoughtform within a 50 meter radius.
- Shiko no Kikan (思考の帰還, meaning Thought Return): Marmalade implants a thought back into someone's body. This thought does not have to have originated from the person she had put it into, but once implanted the thought essentially becomes the victim's thought and allows them to be influenced by whatever idea was placed within them. Naturally, those with high willpower or those who are currently distracted or listening to loud music are immune to this technique.
