Red Texas is the Cyborg founder and Captain of the Gunpowder Company, as well as the current commander in chief of the Drum Kingdom and it's Isshi-49. Texas ate the Doa Doa no Mi, a Paramecia that allows her to create doors on any surface, including even the air itself.

She currently holds a bounty of 89,000,000.

Appearance

Pragmatic on every aspect in her life, Red Texas's own clothing serves it's own purpose in elevating her image to make up for her short height. An incredibly small pirate at a mere 4'10", her body is covered in joints and dents from previous battles and conflicts across her history. Every bit of her physical body meanwhile was built to be efficient and light, giving her a lithe build with zero fat or muscle on it. Even her lower half is perfected in this regard, with what appear to be shoes actually being the mechanical replacement for her feet, attached directly to her body via the knees and unable to be taken off.

Moving on to her clothing, Red dresses to impress and her most iconic feature is her crimson red hood that she always wears. This hood was repurposed from a blanket she once had as a baby and serves as a reminder of her humanity so she treasures it above all else. Because of the care she puts into it, there is only one patch on it stemming from her only loss on the Grand Line, on the middle and near the bottom. Beneath the hood she wears a more pinkish dress, with white frills. By all technicalities, this is a two part dress, connected by a belt she wraps around her waist that manages to cover where her atomic heart is. While this would seemingly make it a weak spot for her, the belt's buckle is made out of titanium just like her braces, and has shown resistant to attacks on her chest... though the dents on the buckle make it clear it is not invincible.

Aside from protecting her core from outside interference, the belt also holds a holster on both sides of her bdoy, where she holds her twin revolvers. Her arms are very much hollow inside, though they're filled to the brim with ammunition. This does not make her arms weapons though as they serve solely as a storage locker for everything she uses up in Gun Kata, both ammunition and gunpowder. She keeps these slots closed by wearing wrist bracelets, each one adorned with a small keychain while also holding a lock that only she has the key to. So long as the bracelets are on, the opening to the insides of her arm are protected, and they cannot be opened except by extreme force.

Personality

First and foremost, Red Texas is a woman of incredible ambition and desire. In having had her body be stripped of most of it's flesh she has been looking for ways to feel just about anything, just so that she could remind herself that she was still human. Thankfully, her cybernetic body still allowed her to feel the sensation of touch that she so longed for, but the desire for stimulus remained in her mind for a long time, driving her decisions.

Because of this drive for experience, Red is incredibly clever in regards to scientific application. While she can't explain the science behind how her cybernetics work, she has taken criticism to heart in order to improve the effects of her techniques, often even modifying her own cybernetics to increase their power. She has even learned how to develop and create new functions for existing equipment, designing the Barrel Deletion program for Carbonation Equipment originally as a means of preventing equipment from getting into enemy hands.

Regardless of her creativity, Red doesn't exactly see herself as clever or smart. She's got some serious self-doubt issues in regards to her own capabilities, due to events across the South Blue as well as on Drum Kingdom. She struggles internally between her extroverted excitement towards others and her own incredible feelings of inadequacy, and often hides these feelings by indulging in drink and drug. When even that fails however, her true feelings manifest in a quiet depression and deflation of her joy.

Of course, even with all of her self-doubts Red Texas does enjoy the company of others. She had gathered each and every member of the Gunpowder Company by being a genuine friend to each member, and is usually quick to make an alliance with other Pirate crews as long as their interests align. This has impacted the way that she interacts with the world as well, as she usually will do everything to protect a new friend so long as it benefits herself in the end, while also helping to alleviate her imposter syndrome when she's among a large amount of company.

As a Pirate, Red was motivated to be as such due to her decisions to seek ultimate freedom. She has placed her hand within the Underworld in order to reach these goals, and has used her engineering skills so that she could help others gain freedom as well. While she fears Cyrano, she views the Shichibukai as a beneficial position to aim towards in regards to that freedom, as being under the Government flag would stop them from bothering her. To this day, she is waiting for that letter to be accepted into the organization, and has tried to be bolder in her efforts in order to get noticed as a Pirate.

Powers & Abilities

Physical Abilities

Strength

While she has tried earning a reputation as a powerful fighter in Paradise, Red doesn't view herself as particularly strong (at least physically). However, despite holding that stigma close to herself she is far stronger than a fair bit of the pirates in Paradise due to intense cybernetic modifications done all across her body to make herself into the "Ultimate Lifeform of the Blues". In terms of sheer might, a mere punch from her is enough to destroy half of a cathedral or to create a door from an entire castle's wall with her Fruit, while her grip strength is enough to keep hold on an object no matter where it went. Even at a young age, her initial cybernetics were enough to lift and tear apart sea serpents as big as a tugboat with ease, while refusing to budge an inch when such a creature rammed into her at full force. In spite of this, she only relies on physical strength in a pinch or to get out of a bind, due to her weaker physical strength compared to other Pirates.

However, this only applies to offensive strength. When it comes to her durability and stamina she is nearly unbreakable. Combining Armament Haki as well as her inner titanium support frame, she’s proven capable of shrugging off an entire salvo of cannon fire without being wounded, and can withstand blows from powerful Zoan users like Buster Krieger without even flinching. In addition, due to her atomic power source, she has an effectively endless stamina pool to pull from, making her capable of fighting for months on end without so much as pausing for a rest break. The only time she has ever been tired has been moments where her atomic core has been struck directly, forcing her into a maintenance mode where she goes into a deep sleep in order to repair the damage. While this effectively makes her an easy capture, in this state her durability is increased by a last ditch effort installed into her body: a force-field that adapts to the force being applied to her body by outside forces in order to protect her.

Speed

Quick on the draw, Texas's greatest versatility is the speed that she can move at. Powered with a atomic reactor, she is capable of moving at speeds faster than the eye can register and can maneuver her way around gunfire without even taking a moment to pause. Using the Doa Doa no Mi alongside Carbonation Equipment, she is capable of travelling at even faster speeds, creating portals in the air and flying straight through them with carbonated water to reach speeds up to Mach 3. At this level of speed, she is able to get from one end of Drum Island to the other end in just under a hour, and up the side of the Drum Rockies in a matter of 5 minutes.

Gun Kata

Gun Kata is Texas's primary form of fighting. While she dual wields firearms of different kinds, rather than fighting from a distance she fights on the front lines, using both pistols both to shoot at a extremely close range while also using them as tools for bludgeoning. Augmented by her modifications, Red's marksmanship while using this fighting style has an extremely deadly accuracy, capable of pinpointing vital organs before shooting to maximize injuries while minimizing the amount of bullets she'd have to waste. Uniquely for the style, this way of fighting also involves heavy use of gunpowder, both in order to refuel her gun as well as a blinding formula to get cheap hits in with. In addition to her regular techniques, she has also incorporated her Devil Fruit into this combat style, using Air Doors to hit around enemy defenses and hopping from Air Door to Air Door to weave and bob around enemy attacks.

Marksmanship

Aside from close-ranged gunslinging from Gun Kata, Red Texas is also somewhat skilled at firing attacks from a range. In addition to her exceptional range, the cyborg woman has a incredibly sharp eyesight, allowing her to notice details that most others miss on first sight. She's capable of picking up minute differences in colors which have helped her in spotting camouflaged opponents, and has often gotten the drop on other Marksmen before they had even noticed her. She is even capable of shooting down invisible opponents in an ideal battlefield, using sudden changes such as footprints in the snow or mud to pinpoint a opponent's possible position.

Cybernetic Modifications

At a young age, Red Texas was used as a guinea pig for cybernetic modifications in an attempt to create the "Ultimate Lifeform of the Blues". In order to achieve this, her entire body has been hacked apart piece by piece and replaced with improved technology capable of withstanding the New World. Carrying the designation "Ultima Zero", she was intended to be the prototype for a series of super soldiers, mechanical soldiers who were capable of taking control over the entire North Blue with the power of a battleship condensed into a human-shaped form.

However, only 3 Cyborgs of her calibur were created before Germa was liberated by the Revolutionary Army, namely herself, her sister Melodi and the berserker Varragon. Each of the three Cyborgs were given modifications that were best suited for their particular skill aptitudes, designed to improve with the user's own dedication and training and designed to be easily upgraded. When it came to Texas, all of her upgrades and modifications had to do with making her body stronger and faster, making up for her lack of Kenbushoku Haki by a wide margin.

In terms of body composition, Texas is entirely built out of extremely lightweight materials such as Tin and Silver, only augmented to survive incredible blows thanks to titanium rods built to support her body. Due to being modified by external sources, almost every part of Red is mechanical in nature, with the only exceptions being her brain, digestive system and lungs. In exchange however, her body is filled to the brim with gadgets and techniques that are capable of turning the tide in battle, which combine well with her incredible speed and close-ranged fighting style. The most important feature of all however is her nuclear reactor heart, which provides her with an endless energy. So long as it is not damaged or destroyed, she is capable of functioning without end, without even tiring.

• Iron Screech: A modification to Texas's vocal cords. This piece of technology lets her unleash much louder sounds than can physically be made, with enough force to shatter glass and puncture ear drums. In addition, it allows her to change her tone to any voice she has heard thanks to a module that connects the Iron Screech to her ears.
  • Steel Screech: A upgraded version of the Iron Screech, which adds a megaphone module to her throat to allow her to reach much higher tones. This technique is capable of breaking concrete and metal with her voice, and one use of this technique in a limited capacity managed to nearly break Drum Castle in it'd entirety, only prevented from doing so by Red not using it at full power. In addition, Texas is capable of narrowing this voice, shooting it in a straight line 5 meters wide rather than a 360 field around herself. This variation is able to break through thick steel walls and can travel across a entire city before dissipating.
• Run Runner: A modification to Texas's legs. Thrusters extend out from the back of Texas's legs, allowing her to run with enhanced speed while also shooting out flames. This, in conjunction with the jetpack function of her Carbonation Equipment and her Devil Fruit allows Red to reach thrice the speed of sound.
• Fake Shigan: A modification to Texas's fingers. Self-explanitory, this one simply converts Red's fingers into miniature pistols, that can only shoot tranquilizer darts.
  • Poison Shigan: A variation of dart that is capable of shooting poison darts. The poison on these darts come from Poison Dart Frogs, and is capable of killing most people without a potent resistance to poison.
  • Flaming Shigan: A variation of dart filled with intense napalm that is designed to burst into flames upon impacting a foe.
• Rocket Punch: Modifications to Texas Red's fists. Texas Red can detach her fists and use rockets built into them to fly them to wherever they are needed. Tiny cameras let her see wherever they go, so she can keep in contact with whatever they are doing even if she is seperated from them by an entire island's distance. These fists play a major part in her Gun Kata martial art, as she can fire a hand to catch a opponent in place through her incredible grip strength before following up with a powerful pistol whip to the gut.
  • Rocket Mutei: While holding onto one of her pistols, Red fires off a fist and uses the hand to fire shots. The combined force of the launch as well as the amount of Haki poured into it causes the rounds to spin incredibly fast, giving it armor-piercing properties.
• Red Rockets: Modifications to Texas's shoulders. By clicking a switch on the side of her head, she can open up slots on her shoulders that can fire heat-seeking missiles that have been loaded into her body. These missiles have incredible explosive might, capable of damaging Marines as strong as Buster Krieger and even strong enough to cause a avalanche within the Drum Rockies.   • Red Curry Fireball: A improved version of the Fresh Fire, where Texas forces enough energy into her head to make it swell to twice it's size before firing a humongous fireball. This technique is powerful enough to burn down an entire Marine battleship, and can set an entire city ablaze in perfect weather conditions.
• Radar Eyes: A modification to Texas's eyes and nose. Extensive modifications to her eyes and nose have been done and have effectively created a thermal radar within her head. She is capable of using this thermal vision to see the Heat Level of her surroundings, with living creatures giving off more heat compared to regular surroundings. However, fire and similarly superheated objects are capable of fooling this sort of second sight, and will be able to force her to turn it off.
• Muffle: A modification to Texas's ears, made after her acquisition of the Doa Doa no Mi. Installing sound nullifying equipment into her ears, Texas can modify how much she is capable of hearing at will, allowing her to ignore sound based attacks and making her immune to her own Iron Screech, something she wasn't immune to before.
• Trap Door Boots: Modifications to Texas's legs, made after her acquisition of the Doa Doa no Mi. By modifying her legs, she has made them capable of opening trap doors into the ground through her Fruit, without needing to use her hands to open them. This lets her quickly avoid a foe's attack on the ground, while also giving her a opportunity to trap a opponent in the ground if they are very close to her.
• Revolver Surprise: A combination of cybernetic function and use of the Doa Doa no Mi. By applying Revolving Door on her own body, she can twist her waist sideways and in reverse, before revealing a shotgun surgically attached to her back. From there, she presses down on her thumbs, causing the shotgun to fire. This was installed by herself and Lalah after her acquisition of the Doa Doa no Mi, rather than being a installation from her first cybernetics.
  • Revolver Vent: A major supporting technique, which taps into her Carbonation Equipment. Texas Red plugs the Revolver into a slot on her piece of Carbonation Equipment, before pouring small amounts of atomic energy through to superheat the water. This heavily increases the power of her Carbonated Torpedoes, allowing them to blow up Marine Battleships in a single shot.
  • Revolver Revolution: According to Texas, this is her ultimate attack and an attack she has specifically built in order to counter Cyrano D. Ferro's strongest attacks such as the one that destroyed Baroque Town. By pressing her thumbs three times rather than once, the shotgun taps into her atomic core, absorbing radiation directly before firing a bright green laser which absorbs soundwaves as it travels along to grow stronger. Upon impact, this laser is capable of causing a massive explosion that leaves atomic fires in it's wake. This technique is capable of melting through steel prisons, and by using the Doa Doa no Mi again to open a Air Door, she can fire it through to have it reappear right on top of the opponent to ensure it hits.

Devil Fruit

Main Article: Doa Doa no Mi

Red Texas has eaten the Doa Doa no Mi, which allows her to create and open doors on any surface, no matter how strong or thick said surface may be. Her doors revert back to their original state after some time has passed; in her own words, "if a door is opened, it must close". Using her ability, she is capable of opening entrances into normally inaccessible spaces, such as locked rooms or the interior of ships through the hull. She can also open doors to freely move through the environment or even through the air itself. She is even capable of creating doors on other people's bodies such as on their face, making them dizzy.

Haki

Busoshoku Haki

In spite of her will to be free above all else, Red Texas's physical superiority is only backed up by one kind of Haki, namely Armament Haki. However, it is within that field of Haki that she has mastered to the point of discovering how to embed Haki into each and every one of her bullets. She is capable of creating deep coats of Haki around herself capable of turning her once flimsy-looking defenses into a properly unbreakable body by most pirates at her level, while her attacks are capable of shredding through Logia users at a frightening speed. She is even capable of using emission and internal destruction to augment her bullets, allowing each shot to impact a foe before destroying them from the inside out.

Weapons and Items

Dual Dippers

Red Texas carries two guns, known collectively as the Dual Dippers. With one gun being the bigger and heavier Little Dipper while the smaller and faster one is known as the Big Dipper, she uses them both at the same time in conjunction with both her Devil Fruit powers as well as with her Gun Kata. Generally, she will hold Little Dipper in her left hand, which gives a slight extra pull that can make impacts from the Big Dipper on the right impact with much greater force. Often, Red has modified it so that they can be quickly converted either gun into a water gun, making it harmless for others to wield if they were so much as to try to take them from her, with only knowledge of how the guns were put together allowing one to convert it into a proper firearm.

Carbonation Equipment

Aside from her traditional firearms, Red has also made use of other forms of equipment, most prominently the Carbonation Equipment that she regularly obtains from the Underworld. This equipment comes in the form of multiple barrel-like devices that are filled with carbonated water, which can funnel itself into various devices. Most commonly, she is not even wearing the Carbonation Equipment, rather letting her subordinates equip it for support or using the carbonation to power various gadgets. However, when the chips are down and she is up against a opponent that she sees as superior to herself, she will pull out the Carbonation Equipment and go all out.

In terms of configurations, the most common one that Red uses is a jetpack, which sticks to the bottom of the barrel to fire out carbonated water like a jet engine. This allows Red to fly high in the air for up to a few minutes per barrel, giving her unrestricted access to the skies as well as a blindingly fast air superiority. In addition, Red also has access to Carbonated Torpedoes, torpedoes that connect to her arms and can be fired into the water to travel through it before impacting ship hulls in order to sink them. A full barrel can fire up to 5 Carbonated Torpedoes at a time, with each Torpedo eating up 20% of the liquid in a barrel right before being fired.

On top of everything else, Red has access to one last function activated by a button on top of every barrel. By pressing this button, Red can activate Barrel Deletion, a self-destruct mechanism that causes all remaining carbonated water within a barrel to burst out at once in a huge explosion. This is used as a last resort, as Carbonation Equipment is rather expensive and hard to replace. However, in regards to destructive power it is capable of dealing incredible damage to large buildings, as seen during her battle at Drum Castle against Borgannon, where it managed to destroy one of the castle's towers while also landing the finishing blow on the king.

History

Past

Red Texas was born within the North Blue, under an affair between its previous king Vinsmoke Charlie and a scientist working under him who was working on the Lineage Factor. Contrary to popular belief, she was not created in a lab as a Modified Human but was merely born the traditional way. Of course, with the king caring nothing about the results of his flings with his subordinates she as well as her fellow triplets Melodi and Eurydice Red were promised nothing, and were to live the life of workers, continuing on the Lineage Factor project that’d give the Germa newfound access to the creation of Modified Humans that they lost in the Golden Age of Piracy.

Unfortunately, history had other plans for her. With Germa being pushed back from its claims all across the North Blue the country took increasing measures to try to turn the tides. While Eurydice was chosen for an experiment in replicating Devil Fruit Powers via Green Blood, Texas and Melodi were instead chosen for the “Ultima Program”, a program specifically designed to create The Ultimate Lifeform in the Blues, an effectively unkillable soldier that could weather any battle.

Both sisters were subject to horrific treatments from there. When it came to her sister, Texas saw as they tore out her vocal cords only to replace her sister’s voice with something entirely alien. When the surgeries were done, while Melodi retained her free will she was a completely changed woman, much more fearful and submissive in personality and something that made her incredibly scared of what she was about to go through. The last moments before she was modified she was seen screaming and trying to flee from Germa, only to be sedated by the royal guard.

When she next awoke her body was already in the middle of operation, with her heart already cut out and replaced by an atomic core. Her mind, continuing to panic forced out a scream empowered by Iron Screech that was much stronger than what the Germa Scientists predicted. They were all knocked out save one: the scientist known as Margerine Burgess. Not wanting another outburst, Margerine knocked her out cold again by turning off the atomic core, before encoding a special chip into her body, one designed to limit the vocal strength Iron Screech would allow if another Vinsmoke or herself were nearby in a effort to preventg something like this ever happened again.

After that, Texas remained asleep until the final modifications were done. By this point, only her brain, digestive system and lungs remained, with every other piece of her body being replaced by metal. However, much like Melodi Texas had managed to retain her free will. And unlike Melodi, who had been made submissive in regards to her circumstances Red just wanted to be free to make her own choices.

Ultimately, only one more Ultimate Lifeform was made before the Revolutionary Army had started their liberation of Germa. While she hadn’t seen much of the person before the conversion, she had seen the person afterward: a bundled up ball of rage whose aggressive nature was only enhanced by his cybernetics. When he was naturally used as a weapon against the Revolutionary forces, she used the chaos from the man’s berserker rage in order to break her bonds and make a fully fledged escape from Germa, ultimately fleeing the island via a lifeboat.
