Raiju-ryu is the secret sword style of the Hiromasa clan in Wano Country.
Overview[]
Where in the early days of the technique thunder was needed to strike the sword, nowadays the evolved technique allows it to be electrified even from scratch. By spinning the extremely sharp sword in the air, it breaks air molecules, thus allowing electricity to be generated on it. Having reached this stage, lightning is compressed onto the blade by a layer of Ryou now charged and spewing energy. The slashes subsequently released in addition to releasing electricity in their outline will release extremely sharp shock waves that crack the air itself in multiple directions thus becoming unstoppable in their path of destruction.

This secret style has been passed down for generations in the Hiromasa Clan, of which Yuto is the leader. In tales of the exploits of its predecessors, this swordstyle has been able to put an end to great adversity. The technique stems from the idea of fighting storms just as Kitsunebi-ryu cuts fire with a sword of fire. To use electricity as the main source, the first user with skill channeled the electricity that struck the sword and then redirected it. Having proved the ineffectiveness of this maneuver, a new approach is reached; the moment the thunder struck the sword, a layer of Ryou was soon used to trap it in a kind of energy bubble that sizzled violently. With this effective basis he realized that he was not cutting thunder with thunder as in Kitsunebi-ryu with fire, but had created a new kind of cutting with absolute ferocity. The Ryou seemed charged, each of its sparks releasing shock waves, so the goal was to refine them and use them in a homogeneous slash with the same properties.
In time this was achieved, and it was devastating. The released slash emanated a storm of sharp shockwaves all at the same time that cracked the air itself making its way in a multitude of lightning bolts until it cut the entire storm in two when it reached its apex.
Over the centuries this technique has undergone changes that have made it extremely lethal, capable of cutting lightning with ease but also having it available in the slash itself although it is only an extra detail that adds to the real danger given by the cracks that the slash generates in the air. A technique that can cut through a storm in this way can effectively cut through many other things so much so that it has become a secret technique in the Hiromasa clan.
