Monk E. Boots, nicknamed "Mad Mink," is a monkey mink that was experimented on and is also the pirate captain of the Red Boots Pirates. Boots' dream is to find the One Piece, and his goal is to uncover the secrets of the Void Century and Joy Boy. Boots currently possesses a bounty of 100,000,000, which he got by defeating 'Golden Arm' Gina Garcia, a pirate captain who had a bounty of 90,000,000.

Appearance[]

Boots is a tall, muscular monkey mink who has periwinkle-colored skin due to being experimented on, and also has yellow-colored fur on the tip of his tail and chest. Boots is an energetic person and always has a smile on his face, until it's time to actually be serious. He has a scar on his left eye.

For attire, Boots doesn't wear a shirt and never has, because he think it's uncomfortable. However, he does wear pants - black, baggy training pants paired with his prominent feature, his red boots. Boots is always seen carrying around his polearm, Hong Si, and uses it for various things not just for battle, like if he can't reach something or to relax on.

Boots is an adventurous thrill-seeker with a great love for combat and food and is always seeking new challenges. Boots childlike nature and innocence are well-known, and he is often perceived as foolish by others due to his naivety and lack of formal education. Despite this, Boots can be incredibly perceptive and intuitive when it comes to understanding tough situations and formulating effective countermeasures. He can see the good in others and shows forgives his enemies, and is viewed as excessive.

Boots possesses a strong sense of loyalty and morality and is deeply protective of his crew and allies. He strives to uncover the past of the Void Century and Joy Boy by finding the One Piece. He is always pushing himself beyond his limits. Boots cares and shows great loyalty to his crewmates. He will go out of his way to make sure no one messes with them. He and ..., his first mate, are the closest to him, and they are like brothers. When they first met each other, they bonded instantly and set it off, becoming friends.

World Government[]

Boots does not like the World Government, but does not necessarily hate them either. He does not think of them as an entity to hate, but instead hates the individuals that threaten him or his friends. Boots also dislikes them because they were the ones who experimented on his body, trying to transform him into a fighter for the World Government, similar to the Pacifista.

Mink Tribe[]

Boots looks at the Mink Tribe as family. Growing up, before being kidnapped after falling off Zunesha, he would help around and help protect. He loved his mother and father a lot and wishes to know if they are still alive or not.

Boots is the captain of the Red Boots Pirates, meaning he has control over the crew and its movements. He is a monkey mink, which means he has the abilities and characteristics of a monkey, except for the fur color, due to being experimented on by the World Government/Marines. As a mink, he has the ability to use Electro and transform into Sulong Form during a full moon. Boots also possesses excellent skill in Haki, more specifically Busoshoku Haki. The Red Boots he wears are normal boots in appearance, but are actually mechanical boots that can fly, release high-temperature heat blasts, and move at high speeds. These boots only work due to the micro chip implanted in Boots head, which controls every movement of the boots.

Boots uses a polearm and is very skilled in using it. His polearm, named Hong Si, can be extended and shrunk. This can be used for a variety of purposes, such as reaching something from afar and, of course, battle too. As a monkey mink, Boots has high agility and speed, which he utilizes with acrobatic techniques that take advantage of his enchanted attributes. Boots also possesses excellent durability, endurance, and strength. He is very intelligent and can detect when something is wrong, and he will act accordingly. Boots is also a skilled fighter, rarely using Electro and Busoshoku Haki, yet still able to pack a punch using hand to hand combat martial arts.

Boots body has been experimentally enhanced by the Marines, resulting in a unique physiology. His fur, for instance, has been fortified to withstand trauma, capable of withstanding up to three slashes from a blade without sustaining damage. However, if his opponent wields Busoshoku Haki, his fur's resilience is significantly reduced, allowing a single slash to penetrate through. Past Life[]

Boots was born on Zou, with all the other Mink tribesmen, until he was eight and fell off Zunesha's leg from exploring too far off. He was later found in the water, drowning and swimming, trying to get back on Zunesha, until a Marine ship later kidnapped him and started doing experiments on him. One day, while being tested, Boots was able to break free and he escaped; and he would later become a pirate.
