Mjolnir is a powerful hammer that serves the Giants of Elbaph. It is currently under the ownership of Heidrun Skadi, replacing her previous hammer Thrud. While it was a powerful, nigh indestructible hammer already, Heidrun Thrymr used the power of the Soru Soru no Mi to infuse it with the power of lightning with Modi.

Appearance[]

Mjolnir appears as a large hammer with a long handle. The head of the hammer is a dark gray, almost black color. On each side of it, a golden troll cross has been etched into it, with a Helm of Awe within the circle of the troll cross. At the base of hammer head, a metallic piece connects it to the long, dark brown handle of the weapon that is made of the wood of Treasure Tree Adam. The connector has the appearance of a scaled pattern, being mostly dark gray with a golden edge. At the end of the handle there is a metal cylindrical pommel with a golden web of Wyrd etched into it.

Abilities[]

Originally, Mjolnir was a simple hammer of great renown. It was considered a powerful weapon and a treasure of Elbaph. Further, many considered it to be incredibly durable and nigh indestructible. Along with the strong metal of the tool, the handle is crafted from incredibly strong and durable Treasure Tree Adam wood.

However, during the rule of Heidrun Thrymr, he used the power of his Soru Soru no Mi to infuse part of the power of Modi into the weapon, giving Mjolnir the power to generate electricity as a sort of non-sentient Vaettir. With it, Heidrun Skadi has explored much of the world and it has served as her primary weapon for many years. Initially, Skadi could only conjure lightning by using her Haki. However, after using it long enough, Skadi became more tuned to the weapon and capable of using lightning without Haki.

Techniques[]

  • Mauling Gjallar (攻撃象牙の角ギャラル Kōgeki Gyararu?, literally meaning "Attacking Ivory Horn"): A technique Skadi learned from her mother, Heidrun Embla. With it, Skadi lunges the top of her spear into her opponent, using both hands to spin it like a drill to increase the power and damage of the attack.[1] Skadi improved on it with the Sake Sake no Mi, using her liquid body to more rapidly rotate it with one arm and strike from longer ranges. The technique's name is derived from the Gjallarhorn, the horn of the watchful god Heimdall that will be blown to signal the beginning of Ragnarok in Norse mythology.

Lightning-Enhanced Techniques[]

  • Vingthor Strike (戦雷神の撃鉄ヴィントールストライキ Vuintōru Sutoraiki?, literally meaning "Warring Thunder God's Firing Hammer"): Skadi conjures of a surge of electricity to come forth from the hammer, acting as a powerful bolt of lightning.[2] The name of the technique is derived from Vingthor, an epithet of Thor, which translates to "battle thunder", in Norse mythology.
  • Vingthor Ram Charge (戦雷神の執拗突撃ヴィントールラムチャージ Vuintōru Ramu Chāji?, literally meaning "Warring Thunder God's Relentless Assault"): Skadi conjures electricity with Mjolnir and releases it in the form of a ram's head.[3] The attack slams into someone with great force to throw them back, as well as stun them with the electrical power of the ability. Skadi modeled it after Modi, the Vaettir that granted Mjolnir its electrical powers.[4] The name of the technique is derived from Vingthor, an epithet of Thor, which translates to "battle thunder", in Norse mythology.
  • Vingthor Earth Shaker (戦雷神の天地鳴動ヴィントールアースシェイカー Vuintōru Āsu Sheikā?, literally meaning "Warring Thunder God's Rumbling and Shaking of Earth"): Skadi charges the hammer with lightning and violently slams it into the ground. Webs of lightning come from it and race on the ground, causing a large area to be electrocuted. Along with the name being derived from Vingthor, an epithet of Thor, it is also derived from an epithet for Poseidon of Greek mythology - who is the god of the sea and earthquakes and is known as the "earthshaker".
  • Divine Blade Asgard (神刃天通雷切アスガルド Kamujin Asugarudo?, literally meaning "Divine Blade Heaven-Reaching Lightning Cutter"): Skadi emits a powerful surge of electricity from the top of her hammer, creating a blade of electricity. This allows her to use Mjolnir as a larger, powerful sword to cut through all not strong enough to withstand her might. The head the hammer acts as the guard of the blade. Skadi can further enhance the power with her Haoshoku Haki by infusing it into the hammer - with the characteristic black lightning of Haoshoku Haki becoming the core of the blade. The name of the technique is derived from Asgard, the realm of the Aesir gods in Norse mythology.

Haki-Enhanced Techniques[]

  • Crushing Utgard (撃破爆破槌ウトガルド Gekiha Utogarudo?, literally meaning "Crushing Destructive Blast Hammer"): Skadi swings Mjolnir with great force from a distance, combining her ability to emit her Busoshoku Haki with her hammer.[5] This allows an invisible force of Haki to carry the full strength and power of her hammer swing over a greater distance. The name of the technique is derived from Utgard, a stronghold of the giants in Norse mythology.
