Lunari Lalah is the First Mate and Helmswoman of the Gunpowder Company, having become her second in command through her sheer inhuman strength. Born on the island of Snowball, she joined Red's journey early on and has risen the ranks to become her trusted second in command, serving as the ruler of Drum Kingdom whenever Texas is busy travelling.

She currently holds a bounty of 43,000,000.

Appearance

Lalah is a rather chilled out woman, standing at a height of 5'11" and looking somewhat malnourished for her height. Her figure is flat all around but from the crow's feet around her eyes it is clear that she has been fighting for some time. Uniquely compared to everyone else from her home island she has ash-white skin, pale enough for her to blend in with snow and naturally cool to the touch even without the use of her Ice-Touch style.

Lalah's hair is naturally blue as well, as well as her nails and eyes. Her tongue meanwhile is black as coal, alongside the rest of her insides and her blood. She has rather bushy yet short eyebrows, which she regularly trims to keep the same size, while her face seems to be the only part of her that actually looks soft-ish. She usually wears a bit of eyeliner, painting some black around her eyes in an attempt to look cool in spite of her weird body.

In terms of uniform, Lalah wears a industrial uniform made up of multiple layers including two shirts and a apron. These multiple layers are meant to give her some insulation against strong attacks by letting cloth handle the harder aspects of some of the punches. In addition to this, she usually wears a blue cap over her head, matching the color of her hair and usually holding a screwdriver on the side for when she's messing with machinery.

On her body, Lalah carries some tools on hand all the time. She usually brings with her screwdrivers as well as hammers for quick repairs, but has been known to strap more complex devices such as welders on her back for more intensive jobs. She also has a barrel that she occasionally straps to her back, which serves as important equipment for her.

Personality

From first looks, Lunari Lalah is a rather calm individual keeping herself in a cold and calculating manner from which she carries herself. She usually tends to speak in a composed matter even in dire situations, and tends to be under the belief that "battle plans never survive enemy contact", leading to her always having backups for anything that she ever does. This cool personality is amplified by the fact that she tends to enjoy a smoke as well as her enjoying the blues.

Unlike her captain, Lalah is very much perceptive of the changes within the World, and thus is more suited for managing the crew than Texas usually is. However, due to her complete loyalty to her captain she tends to fill in only while Texas is unavailable for giving orders. She tends to maintain a level of healthy skepticism towards others however, always being prepared for the worst while still hoping that there is an ounce of good within each person she interacts with that she can use to better the position of her crew.

Lalah seems to be more reserved in regards to her emotions, but details regarding slavery tend to drive her to anger incredibly quickly due to having once been forced to work for a shipping vessel herself. When exposed to something that enrages her, she tends to reach a "freezing point", where she enters a tranquil fury that gives her tunnel vision between herself and her opponent. Nothing is capable of reasoning with her at this opponent, and only the threat of death has been observed at snapping her out from this line of thinking. When she is like this, her skin often gives off the effect of freezing over, as Busoshoku Haki shines from her arms. She also seems to have the same reaction, minus the tunnel vision and Haki when experiencing true disgust, before subsequently vomiting.

Lalah usually does not look for fights, usually only engaging people when it becomes a problem to herself. When it comes to motivation, Lalah steps in not to get stronger but to intervene for what she views as the right side. When others are at risk, she will not hesitate to back down from a potential fight to intervene in another to save someone, or to back down if an enemy side starts getting innocents involved. She will also tend to avoid unnecessary confrontations, or will try to find some way to use them to her advantage such as by turning them against another force that she does need dealt with.

This is not to say that she does not enjoy fighting. Lalah does enjoy a good scrap when it comes to simply testing herself, and she helps tinker with Red Texas so that her captain can become a stronger fighter. She is somewhat confident in her own skills, having modified a piece of Carbonation Equipment all by herself to fit her style and combining it with her Ice-Touch in order to build what she believes as an invincible combat style. She has been prone to underestimating foes in the past however, which is how she got forced into working on a shipping vessel before meeting Red, as well as during the escape from the Will Breaker, Buster Krieger's personal ship following the events at Baroque Town.

In regards to her own body, Lalah seems to suffer from Bulimia, a disorder where she tends to overeat by a massive amount before vomiting it all out by her own effort. While she has acknowledged that she may have a problem, she seems to view herself as being too big in spite of her thin body being with little to no fat on it, and still continues to vomit out anything beyond what she needs to survive. Since becoming a member of the Gunpowder Company however she has been slowly recovering, slowly increasing the amount she has been eating and starting to gain a bit of weight to bring a bit of roundness to her cheeks, though she often still doubts her own body in spite of this.

Powers & Abilities

Physical Abilities

Strength

When it comes to strength, Lalah is only second in regards to her captain. Capable of breaking steel with her bare hands, she can go toe to toe with the best within Paradise while also using her Ice-Touch abilities to chill them to the bone afterward. With a punch, she can knock a tower on it's side or break it entirely while at her maximum she is capable of killing Sea Kings and putting a dent into her captain, a fact that she uses in order to make modifications to her captain's body as needed.

While not a Fish-Man, Lalah has also been known to be an incredibly capable fighter underwater, using her Carbonation Equipment in order to move beneath the waves faster than what she is capable of moving on from the surface. She is capable of applying her immense strength onto the bottom hull of enemy ships, breaking through and sinking them from brute force while regulating her oxygen via Life Return to stay beneath the waves as long as possible. She is also capable of tearing off huge sections of a ship's hull, and has been known to use them in order to swim away as a sort of raft.

Meanwhile, when it comes to durability Lalah has been known to possess inhuman amounts of stamina much like her Captain. While she cannot stay awake indefinitely she has been known to stay up for over a week on end with only minor signs of fatigue, and can usually fight for three days continuously if she's facing off against a even opponent. Thanks to this, Lalah relies often on brute force to win fights, augmenting herself only with a piece of Carbonation Equipment as well as her unique martial arts.

Speed

When it comes to speed, Lalah is more trained in brute force but can still move somewhat swiftly when she's going all out. While she has trouble reacting to enemy attacks, when she throws a punch it can catch extremely dexterous foes off guard while also being able to then throw a second punch in a fraction of a second as a double tap. This speed lets her use Ice-Touch to it's fullest capabilities so long as she's attacking first.

Lalah Lunari learned Ice-Touch, a form of Bio Feedback martial art at her home on Snowball. This is a martial art that involves using Life Return in order to reduce the bodily temperature on her arms and legs to freezing temperatures to create chilly impacts onto the bodies of others. While not to the extremes that Devil Fruits such as the Hie Hie no Mi, she is capable of using this martial art to steal body heat from foes, in order to freeze the target.

In terms of Ice-Touch, Lalah is considered a intermediate master in regards to form and technique. While she has learned a lot of the technical aspects about the martial art, she has not had much experience using it until she had joined the Gunpowder Company. By the time she has reached the Grand Line however, she has achieved enough understanding of other martial arts to learn how to incorporate proper counters to each style, properly earning the Epithet of Revenant that other masters of the Ice-Touch style have learned. Regardless though, she herself does not believe she is the strongest practitioner of the art, with her believing that the strongest user of the art lies within the New World.

Helmsmanship

As the Helmsman of the Gunpowder Company, Lalah has had entire years to perfect sailing, and has learned to sail the Smoking Gun with great proficiency. She is capable of sailing the ship through Drum's rough waters without so much causing a single bit of damage to the hull, and usually can learn how to control different ships on her first try, as seen when she first started sailing the Smoking Gun. She is capable of seeing the Green Room, a pocket space within a tidal wave for which a ship can sail through to travel past unharmed, and has once used a small fishing boat to travel past for curiosity's sake.

When it comes to actually steering a ship, Lalah knows how to use sea currents to keep the Smoking Gun as fast as possible. She has used this to keep the ship out of range of bigger and faster ships such as the Will Breaker and the Red Crown, while her captain used her superior knowledge of cannon aiming to fire at said ships. She is also capable of using her insane strength to singlehandedly steer the ship, pulling ropes to steer the ship around cannon fire to avoid attacks. However, with her sheer strength she needs a ship that can handle her as lesser ships will usually break under the sheer pressure of having her pull it around.

Haki

In terms of Haki, Lalah is aware of Haki but is only capable of applying basic Busoshoku Haki. She is capable of using this to harden her body, allowing her to strike against Logia users without worry of them dodging, though in regards to actual use she mainly just uses it in defense. When using Armament Haki, she coats her entire body rather than a single limb, causing her to burn through it fast for a full-body protection against a powerful attack.

Weapons and Equipment

Carbonation Equipment

Much like her Captain, Lalah carries a piece of Carbonation Equipment on hand, which she wears on her back. Her specific configuration is two different gauntlets attached to her forearms attached to one barrel each, which slowly keeps her forearms covered in a thin layer of water. These gauntlets are capable of spinning at a rapid pace to increase the force of her punches, while the water is bolstered by her Ice-Touch technique to freeze the gauntlets, giving her even greater power. In addition, by slamming the gauntlets together she is capable of launching a singular Carbonated Popsicle, a full-force stream of freezing water that uses every single bit of water she has left.

As a fully fledged helmsman and engineer, Lalah has also installed two Carbonated Barrels on the side of the Smoking Gun. Sucking up ocean water, these two barrels can be fired once an hour to give the ship an incredible burst of speed, launching them forth up to a kilometer forward in only the span of a few seconds. Alternatively, these barrels can be aimed upward in order to temporarily launch the ship a few hundred meters into the sky, allowing the ship to dodge enemy fire if no other option is available. In a emergency, these barrels can also function as cannons to shoot carbonated water, though these capabilities are limited.
