Kirimoto Aphrodite, or known by her epithet of Shihebi, is an Admiral of the Marines. She is the current Commanding Officer of the Marine Branch SPEAR. She follows the motto of Cruel Justice, which entails enforcing the law on everyone no matter how cruel or vile the methods may be seen.

Hailing from the island of Alabasta, Aphrodite was exposed to the harsh reality of the world from a young age. As such she developed a seething hatred of anyone she branded a criminal. Ever since her first exposure to that environment she has dedicated herself to becoming the pinnacle of the marines.

She has been noted to be a prominent marine, successfully leading multiple missions around the world, and giving her notoriety as well. Notable missions include the raid on Graveyard Island which resulted in the permanent destruction of its ecosystem, as well as most of the members of the Preta Tribe passing away due to a slip up. She also played a role in the dissolution of the original Jurassic Pirates under the Animal Kingdom.

After the War of Empires, Aphrodite has begun taking on more projects on her journey to the top. Of note is her involvement in the capture of Alabasta from Baji, albeit her role in the events was not significant. After the raid, she went by herself to confront Baji in the New World on Hachinosu. However, after the King’s defeat at her hands she was left to contest Baal and Gladius Romulus for the Road Poneglyph she was transporting.

Appearance

Of the words you could use to describe Aphrodite’s appearance, prideful would be the most accurate. Her physical look is almost always well maintained, keeping herself well groomed and respectable looking. Her blonde shoulder length hair is clean and soft, flowing freely as she goes about her duties. It is entirely straight with little to no curling. She shows a lot of focus in making sure her hair is maintained, and it seems to be quite an important part of her appearance to her. It can typically be seen let loose, or up in a high ponytail with hair framing her face. Her facial features are deemed quite attractive, possessing a soft nose and a sharp jawline. Most of her tanned skin is completely unblemished and clean. Across the left side of her face and starting near the end of her jawline to about the end of her cheekbone is a scar she received after the event of her battle with Baji. Her eyes are a grey color with only small hints of purple. They are cold and uncaring, her own callousness towards pirates being seen through them.

Aphrodite’s own body is nothing to scoff at either. Through her many years of training, her body has become toned and refined. She is fit and has ample muscular structure, while still retaining a feminine appearance. While not being extremely tall at her meager 178 centimeters, she still has a very imposing appearance. Similar still to her face, her body would be considered quite attractive in conventional standards, just like her namesake.

She can typically be seen sporting multiple different sets of clothing, showing her enjoyment in styling herself with different apparels. When in more casual settings, she prefers to wear a simple black kimono. The bottom reaches down to her feet, which are adorned in basic wooden sandals.

When not in laid back situations, she has been seen wearing two different outfits. First of which is a maroon colored uniform. The design is fairly basic, possessing few ornate details. But of the ones that do exist, they are finely crafted. The collar around her neck is black, and her shoulders are covered in metal shoulder pads. These are spiked, ending with golden tips. Uniquely, this specific outfit typically goes with a pair of steel gauntlets.

Yet another outfit she has been seen in is an Alabastan style one, showing her heritage. The tightened shirt of the outfit is a soft yellowed white with no additional details or features. Due to its tight fit, it not only shows off her musculature, but allows for ease of quick pace combat. It is sleeveless, allowing her chiseled arms to be put on display. Going with the rest of the outfit is an ankle length skirt. The skirt is brown in color, with gold trimming near the bottom. Her official marine coat can also be seen when adorning this outfit, as well as a pair of circular sunglasses. She wears simple leather sandals when wearing this outfit.

Personality

Aphrodite is, at heart, an inherently good natured person. This can be seen through the amount of effort she puts into not only her work as a marine, but into her overall lifestyle. She believes firmly that the law is just and should be abided by, no matter what. This leads to her feeling the need to aggressively enforce the rule of law placed by the World Government. However, her zealous attitude towards the upkeep of the law has led her to perform multiple actions she would not have considered doing otherwise, such as permenthalty scarring Sinbad, or destroying an island to complete the mission. She is still shown to regret things, even if it is slight. However, aside from her attitude towards her job, Aphrodite does harbor an extreme hatred towards pirates of any type. She sees them as lesser beings, and her “Cruel Justice” is entirely aimed at them. She holds no mercy towards them, and up until now, no pirate has managed to change her mind on the matter.

She is cold, even towards her allies. Especially when it comes to her duty as a marine, of which she takes very seriously. She doesn’t believe young children she be in the marines- despite being a child herself when she joined-, and she makes that very clear. Sometimes she will show a more tender side however, especially around people she is comfortable with.

Although, even with her desire to protect innocents and her tender, more caring side, the hatred she has held in her heart for most of her life has less her to truly grow cold and brutal. This is shown especially whenever meeting a large scale pirate, or more recently, her awakening of Haoshoku Haki. Due to Haoshoku being a representation and manifestion of one’s inner spirit, it is the purest showcase of one’s heart. When Aphrodite released hers for the first time, it showered the people who felt it in a sense of horrible fear and dread.

Relationships

World Government

Aphrodite has a respectable relationship with the group she is employed under. Her numerous successful missions have allowed her to grow to be a trusted individual in the group, and be given more responsibilities as such. Her own view of the group isn’t the best, however. She has a particular dislike of most of her higher ups apart from a few outliers. She also had a secret hatred towards the World Nobles, but she doesn’t act upon it due to believing it is the best avenue to protecting innocents.

Zhuque Ehuang

Out of all the marines, Aphrodite shares the deepest bond with Ehuang. Their relationship could simply be chalked up as mentor and pupil, but family would be a more fitting word for it. She hopes to live up to Ehuang’s expectations and make her proud one day. Due to this, they have trained together quite frequently. Ehuang in specific is one of the major reasons for Aphrodite awakening Busoshoku: Emission.

While she may not agree with Ehuang’s absolute loyalty towards Kano Country, she still has the utmost respect for Ehuang and the determination she has for it.

She is more open with Ehuang than most other people as well, willing to reveal feelings and thoughts she would normally bury away.

Aphrodite also spells her name as “Ehguang”. If this is intentional or not is unclear.

Polta G. Specter

Another trusted friend of Aphrodite’s is Polta G. Specter. Meeting many years ago when she was first dispatched to assist his Cipher Pol group in a mission they were sorely failing on, she bonded with the Chief of CP9 after barely escaping from the event with their lives. He is also one of the few people she feels comfortable in talking to, sharing her own true emotions with him.

Even though Specter’s own flirtatious tendencies can tend to be annoying, she doesn’t mind them in the long run of things. She views them as a sweet gesture, and rather funny.

Sinbad

Sinbad is one of the few marines Aphrodite harbors a sense of disgust at. Their relationship can be summed up as incredibly hostile. During a mission Sinbad attempted to protect a criminal stealing food for his family. Aphrodite was unjustly enraged at the boldness of Sinbad; So later in an area filled with other marines, Aphrodite made an example out of Sinbad and scarred him with her poison. She referred to him as the type of marine you should strive to not become. While she does feel a tinge of remorse for the actions she took against him, she ultimately does not regret it. It is a small price to pay for an example in behavior.

The reasoning for Aphrodite’s overreaction towards Sinbad’s gesture of kindness is unknown, and seemingly out of character.

Hector Hobbs

While Aphrodite does respect Hobb’s position as a Vice Admiral, her opinion of the man is still low. Specifically due to him forcing her to write out paperwork, but more generalized as he appears to be yet another overbearing higher up.

Samuel

Aphrodite doesn't see much potential in Samuel, and she made sure to say so during their brief encounter. She deemed him nowhere near strong enough to survive in the marines. Out of a place of pity and perhaps disgust, she told the boy off and that if he died it would only cause more paperwork, so quitting would be the best route for him.

Other

Guan Ming

During the War of Empires, Aphrodite and Guan Ming had an encounter during the battle against the original Jurassic Pirates. The result of which was Ming suffering a loss at Aphrodite's hands, along with him losing his sight in one eye and significant damage throughout his body. She also was responsible for the death of his wife.

Aphrodite doesn't necessarily feel any hatred towards Ming himself; In fact, pity would be more fitting. She is aware of the pain she caused the man, but views it as his fault for becoming a pirate.

Baji

Aphrodite harbors a very special hatred for Baji. She has no respect for the man, and his takeover of Alabasta only caused her opinion of the man to drop more. While she didn't have much of a chance to interact with the man during the battle at Alabasta, her hatred for him was made known at Hachinosu.

After defeating him in battle, Aphrodite used paralytic gas on the man to ensure he could be publicly executed, and as such, fulfilling her mission of wrathful revenge against him.

Pompeii

As with all pirates, Aphrodite hates Pompeii. But most of it is annoyance at the overeager pirate captain. Due to the very little amount she knowns about Pompeii, she hasn’t been able to formulate an advanced opinion aside from surface level interactions.

Powers & Abilities

Overview

Aphrodite is a Rear Admiral in the marines, which means she possesses the ability to command marines under her. Aside from her remarkable fighting power, she is also the Commanding Officer of SPEAR, giving her the ability to command any marines that are within the organization under her. Her position in the world is so known of that most people she encounters have heard of her endeavors and powers. Others even know of most of her exploits, and have developed opinions on them.

Aside from that, she possesses a remarkable ability to lead people. Whether it be in battle, or in daily conduct, she can be relied on. This is shown through her leading SPEAR, as well as her position as a Rear Admiral of the Marines. Even in the heat of combat, Aphrodite still can command the people around her to her advantage in warfare. She is trusted enough as a leader that her subordinates will follow commands from her even before she issues them. This is only accentuated by her awakening of Haoshoku Haki, a skill only the best leaders are capable of possessing.

Aphrodite is also a somewhat experienced trainer, being entrusted with multiple people under her own personal care.

Physical Abilities

Aphrodite is extremely strong, her position as a prominent New World fighter showing that.

Her physical speed is commendable, aided by her reasonably small stature. Even without the utilization of Soru, she is capable of keeping up with most opponents and attacks. She was also able to react and defend against an assortment of extremely fast lighting based attacks, taking minimum damage against most of them. Her base movement speed is also admirable, seeing as she was able to traverse battlefields very quickly and with ease.

Her physical strength is great enough that basic attacks and techniques possess far more potency then they would otherwise, which grants her avenues to fight even when unable to utilize her Devil Fruit. Her Rokushiki techniques especially have been shown to be far stronger when compared to their base forms. Her arm strength allows Rankyaku slashes to carry far more weight and speed, traveling over vast distances and even harming Baal, albeit only slightly. Her usage was additionally strong enough to create condensed air bullets when used.

Due to just being a human, as well as her fighting style not focused heavily on taking damage, Aphrodite has weaker durability compared to her other traits. That does not mean that she is not durable, however. She has been shown to be able to resist taking damage from dangerous attacks point blank. Her pain tolerance is well developed, seeing as she was able to continue fighting despite being hammered with electrical attacks from Gladius Romulus.

Devil Fruit

Aphrodite has consumed the Doku Doku no Mi, a Paramecia type Devil Fruit that allows her to create and manipulate poison. She is incredibly skilled with its usage, able to produce different forms of poisons and acid while using the fruit. She is also able to create gaseous and liquid forms of poisons while utilizing the fruit. She can shape the produced poison and gas into different constructs to form attacks.

It can also be used defensively. By covering her body in poison it can cushion against attacks as well as become a problematic threat for physical attackers. By shaping the poison around herself, Aphrodite can create constructs of poison to aid her in battle.

Aphrodite is also able to use the poison as makeshift barriers against various phenomena, and to varying degrees of success. Being able to manipulate poison in a gaseous as well as liquid and semi-solid forms grants Aphrodite great variability in the different things she can accomplish with her fruit.

Basic uses of the poison are enough to severely harm or even outright kill opponents. For example, Guan Ming, a subordinate to a former Yonko crew who possessed a notable poison resistance was severely crippled from Aphrodite’s poison. To the point he lost most of his fighting ability and his skill to make use of Haki. It also resulted in the death of his own wife. It was also strong enough to lethally harm Gladius Romulus while utilizing his Mythical Zoan, although he had suffered other damage as well.

The fruit also makes her immune to the adverse effects of poison on her body.

Rokushiki

Aphrodite, despite her young age in comparison to other users of it has learned how to utilize the six techniques of Rokushiki quite masterfully. While her mastery isn't special by itself, she has an innate skill in combining the techniques into different methods of fighting.

Of note is her usage of the Kami-e. She is able to implement the technique into her combat seamlessly, and is very proficient in using it to avoid attacks. Her skill in using Soru and Geppo is also incredibly proficient. She is able to combine the two into the Kamisori technique, granting her incredible speed and mobility during combat. Her Rankyaku is unusually powerful, able to travel long distances without losing its strength. Her skill with Shigan is also commendable. She has great control over the ability, as well as what she can do with the effects it grants her. Apart from basic finger thrusting attacks, she can launch aerial bullets,, she has also shown to be able to use Shigan on other parts of her body and attacks to increase their attack power. As for the sixth technique, Tekkai, Aphrodite uses it very skillfully as well. It allows her to not only absorb damage like the usual usage of it, but also to stand her ground against attacks with insane knockback.

And to showcase her true mastery of Rokushiki, Aphrodite is one of the handful of people in the world with the ability to use the pinnacle of it’s techniques; Rokuogan. Her damage output when utilizing the technique is incredibly high, and she is able to perform it without requiring a long wind up.

Haki

Aphrodite is familiar with the concept of Haki itself. She knows how to utilize it herself, and has a firm grasp on how it operates. Through training as well as in combat experience, she has learned how to harness the colors quite masterfully.

Her willpower is immense, as seen during the release of her first burst of Haoshoku Haki, which was enough to shatter ice and separate the clouds above.

Haoshoku Haki

Despite being surrounded by users of Haoshoku Haki, as well as fighting multiple of them, Aphrodite hasn’t been able to make use of the Color of Kings for most of her life. However, after being frozen by Baal during the fight for a Road Poneglyph, she managed to unlock its usage. It is strong enough that it managed to crack open Baal’s ice, as well as separate the clouds above the duo. Her willpower while exerting it has been noted to be cruel and fear inducing.

Busoshoku Haki

The Color of Armament is an ability Aphrodite is exceptionally well-versed in, able to easily coat her entire body in the hardened spirit armor. Her training was assisted by Zhuque Ehuang, granting her a base to unlock advanced forms of Haki, only needing an encounter to realize the power.

As is the case with all of the users of Busoshoku Haki, Aphrodite’s armament allows her to increase her own defensive and attack properties.

Busoshoku: Emission

During the fight with Baji, Aphrodite unlocked the ability to emit her Haki over short distances as well as drastically increase attack power. She first used it on screen against Romulus.

So far she has only used it for basic punches, and not incorporated it into other techniques.

Kenbunshoku Haki

Aphrodite is very skilled in Kenbunshoku Haki, and she uses it in combat seamlessly.Just as is the case for her Busoshoku, Ehuang has assisted in the training of her Haki skills.

She has shown to be able to use all of its applications very easily, almost like it was second nature to her.

History

Past

At some point in the past, Aphrodite and a group of marines she was leading were called to assist CP9 during a mission gone wrong. She first met Polta G. Specter during this encounter. However, even with her help, the mission had multiple incidents that occurred causing everyone except her and Specter to perish.

A Deadly Debut Arc

Having got wind of a pirate raid on the neighboring island, Aphrodite began angrily walking down a hall to stop the raid. After receiving a status report from a nearby marine, she scolded them and expressed her frustration at them not being able to stop the measly crew. After managing to get outside she took off, aimed directly for the nearby island.

Put Your Life On The Line Arc

Aphrodite appears on the ship arriving at Alabasta along with Zhuque Ehuang and Baihu Turshen. Using her Devil Fruit, she emits a cloud of poison gas to paralyze and prevent the banana gators from being a threat to the rest of the group after a command from Ehuang.

She participates in the clean up after Baji’s retreat, talking briefly with Ehuang about the saddened state she was in about her home country being ravaged.

My Old Friend, Death Arc

Aphrodite arrived at a restaurant to meet with Polta G. Specter just to get together and talk considering how long it has been since they last got together, first appearing outside the front of the restaurant through a large window.

She sat down at the table directly across from Specter, and asked how he was doing. After ignoring another cheap shot at flattery from the Chief of CP9, she responded, lamenting on her hatred of paperwork. Even going to say that she would kill herself if forced to do paperwork on the regular, and that she prefers her dangerous job to avoid having to do it. She comments on her surprise at Specter not being at Alabasta during her last mission. She complains slightly about the fact that despite her being stronger, it doesn’t help that people can still take over her home country that easy, and that tracking him into the New World has been impossible. She then adds on how much it truly upsets her after finishing her glass of water.

After being informed of Cipher Pol 9’s lack of needing agents to be trained from a young age, she brings up to Specter that perhaps it isn’t the wisest idea to let people like that in. To which he comforts her, promising he has it all under control. She orders a croissant. Desperately trying to make small talk, which she is, obviously, very bad at, Aphrodite asked Specter if he is doing any hobbies these days. After he answers and returns the question, she explains that she has simply been far too busy for hobbies. The food arrived, and she began to eat her croissant. She comments on how she thinks she is a good teacher, noting the success of SPEAR.

But she couldn’t eat the croissant for long. Almost at the exact time she began to eat it, the clouds outside darkened weirdly. Ash fell from the sky, and overall extremely negative weather began to occur out of the blue. A man burst through the window, crushing Aphrodite’s croissant. After a rather extravagant entrance, Aphrodite inquired as to who he was, to which he announced himself as Pompeii. She quipped childishly at Pompeii, and noted that his aura didn’t appear to be all that strong. But she acknowledged his confidence, and that confidence was dangerous. She stood up from her table, addressing herself and ordering Pompeii to stand down immediately. He, of course, didn’t accept, and attacked Aphrodite.

Aphrodite used Tekkai to parry the flaming stars Pompeii sent at her, allowing them to fall to the ground harmlessly. She sped towards the man, using a Busoshoku Haki coated Shigan to try and pierce Pompeii’s chest. After her attack was parried, she retaliated by grabbing hold of Pompeii’s sword, using Tekkai to avoid damaging her hand. But she couldn’t break it, the sword having unnatural durability. With her other hand, she caught the punch from Pompeii, squeezing tightly as she attempted to crush his hand and poison him all at once. Unfortunately, Pompeii is a cripple. The hand she had grabbed hold of was a reconstruction made out of ash, allowing the man to pull away harmlessly. After ignoring more taunts from the pirate, she braced herself to counter the second star attack from Pompeii. Utilizing Tekkai: Ajisai, Aphrodite reflected the damage from the spinning ashen stars back onto them, causing them to explode with their own force.

Aphrodite moved again, this time using her whole hand as a slashing weapon. She used Dragon Claw to try and land a hit across Pompeii’s chest. However, Pompeii successfully countered it with his own Iron Maiden. The ash in the air stuck to Aphrodite’s skin, trapping her in a heated oven-like brick. But ever the bright thinker, she began to get herself out of the prison. Using her fruit in tandem with Tekkai, she began to produce liquid out of her body. As there was nowhere for it to go, it began to build up massive amounts of pressure, the Tekkai protecting her from harm. Eventually the shell couldn’t take much more, and it exploded under the amount of pressure she had applied to it. And thanks to an intervention from Specter, Pompeii’s kick to her chin fell short. After staring down the pirate, she mumbles out a new threat.

Pompeii moved the fight outside, to which she followed closely. Using Soru, she went outside, keeping the pressure on Pompeii. She used Kenbunshoku Haki to sense that this was only a small portion of Pompeii she was fighting, and went to clap his head with a Busoshoku Haki infused clap to end the fight instantly. However, Pompeii reacted quickly to her move. This forced her into gracefully landing atop of the man’s knee, which sent her far into the air above the duo. Once she reached the ceiling above them, she sent down a large pillar of intense poison to try and drown Pompeii in it and end the fight then and there.

Aphrodite is seen approaching Mercury Island with a group of other marines, and she engages in brief conversation with Cyber’s creator as well as Goddard D. Delight regarding using Cyber for missions. When Brutus and Gladius Constantine make their appearance, she opts to stay on the ship and protect it. She hasn’t made any further appearances.

After waiting idly for months after the War on Alabasta, Aphrodite finally received the where-abouts of Baji’s location. With this in mind, she made her way to Hachinosu. With the go ahead from Admiral Haitori, she arrived with a fleet of marine battleships. The man commented on not only her lack of a promotion following the events on the island, but on his lack of belief in her ability to handle it herself. She sighed briefly before addressing Baji, declaring that she would swiftly bring Baji in to prison, and take Fullalead from him. After the pirates responded with taunts and jeers once more, Aphrodite confirmed she was indeed not making empty threats, and that she would indeed take Hachinosu from him. After Baji exerted his Color of Kings and nearly destroyed the entire fleet of ships with it, he threatened Aphrodite with a potential hostage situation. Aphrodite curtly responded, stating that these men knew what they signed up for, and any casualties were for the greater good. After she said this, she flicked her finger forward, disrespectfully jamming it in front of the proud Baji. In response to this, Baji created a force field of Conqueor’s Haki between himself and Aphrodite, as well as had his pet alligator, Osiris, consume a marine soldier. With this, Aphrodite began to prepare for her first attack.

Aphrodite began to generate large amounts of poison from her skin, allowing it to collect into a small ball in her hands. Throughout her conversation with Baji, it continued to condense and grow in mass, but not size. After a few more exchanged words, the ball was sent floating slowly towards Baji. This was her technique, Explosion. However, just as it was about to reach the Mad King, he expertly sliced it in half. His flaming swords neutralized all danger from the poison, rendering the attack harmless. She separated a wall made of flames created by Baji with her arms, before blasting him with a beam of potent poison. The man sliced through it, and brought himself up into the air above. Due to her activated Color of Observation, as well as her heightened senses, Aphrodite was able to tell Baji was striking from above extremely easily. Right before the slash came crashing down, she had moved away, Soru carrying her away from the attack. While Baji was still in the air, Aphrodite moved incredibly fast and relocated behind him. With her arms together in a ball, she attempted to sledgehammer him into the ground below.

After Baji’s skillful response to her attack, Aphrodite redirected her hands to prevent being entrapped within the hooks of his blades. But immediately after being freed from his grasp, she was struck with an emitted slash of Busoshoku Haki. A technique she didn’t even understand yet. The slash sent her flying backwards through the air, drawing blood on her torso. But despite the strength of it, the damage she took was negligible. Wiping blood from her mouth, she continued the onslaught against Baji. Activating Kami-Ei, she weaved over the slash and regained her footing in the air. She immediately launched off a pair of powerful Rankyaku slashes against Baji. After the slicing air was parried by the King, he closed in and began to spin rapidly in front of Aphrodite. But oddly enough, he had silenced any intent behind his attacks, effectively preventing her Color of Observation from working. He span faster and faster, creating massive amounts of emitted Haki slashes in every direction. But even with her Observation tampered with, Aphrodite was still able to dodge all of the slashes whilst utilizing Kamisori. Aphrodite waited until the endless barrage came to an end, and began to continue pressing the offensive. Gathering the deep red poison from her body, she shaped it into the appearance of a massive draconic serpent. “Quenching Rain of the Twin Dragons’ Tears”

However, Baji managed to slice through the draconic snake attack easily. This was of much concern to Aphrodite, however, she paid no attention to it at the time. She was focused on winning this, and would stop at nothing. With that in mind, she prepared to transform. Liquid and gas, both poison, generated from every inch of her body. They wrapped around her, enveloping them in the warmth they brought. From this, the technique Doku no Yoroi was born. She brought the constructs hands forward, launching each one of its ten fingers at Baji with incredible speed.

Down With the King

Aphrodite stood above the defeated Baji, the many signs of over exhaustion clear across her body. But no matter how difficult the fight truly was, she had still managed to prevail in the end. Just like she said she would. She sat down, resting her body. She had already issued commands to the men still alive to take over the island of Hachinosu, clearing out the pirates that had took up residence there. With a shaky hand, she called into Marine Headquarters. She reported the capture of Hachinosu, Baji, and the Poneglyph. It was a success. After the call ended and Admiral Haitori issued the command to bring Baji and the Poneglyph straight to Marine Headquarters and warn her of the possible Legion Pirates sightings, she proceeded to finish the mission.
