The Kaze Kaze no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the users to create, control, and transform into wind at will. It was eaten by Hræsvelgr Laegjarn.

Etymology[]

  • Kaze (?) means "wind" in Japanese.
  • In the Viz manga and Funimation adaptations, it is called the Wind-Wind Fruit.

Appearance[]

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

Strengths[]

The Kaze Kaze no Mi allows the user to create, control, and transform into wind, making them a formidable opponent. As with all Logia fruits, the user can let attacks harmlessly pass through their body by becoming intangible wind and making them highly elusive, as they can disperse their body into gusts or streams of air, avoiding physical harm and moving swiftly through the environment. Allowing the user to manipulate wind to generate devastating, high-speed attacks, such as slicing gales or powerful cyclones capable of overwhelming opponents and causing widespread destruction.

Due to being wind, there is an overabundance of it in the environment, meaning he will almost never run out of wind to control, only needing to sprinkle a bit of his own created wind to completely control an entire area. It enhances the force of physical strikes by adding speed and cutting power, making close-quarters combat more effective and, at the same time, allowing the user to be a devastating long-range combatant on the battlefield by altering air currents, disrupting enemy movements, and deflecting projectiles. The user can generate concentrated blasts of wind to strike at range or create wide-reaching gusts to knock back multiple enemies. Moreover, this ability grants the user high mobility, enabling them to travel swiftly over land and even achieve flight by riding wind currents.

Weaknesses[]

Despite its versatility and power, its one major drawback is its inherent diffulty when confronting logia of superior elemental properties, for example, the Goro Goro no Mi gives the user a disadvantge, as wind can amplify the effects of electricity, potentially allowing the user to exploit his own attacks and movements. Another vulnarability lies is enclosed or airless environments, such as underwater or in a vacuum-like space, which will severely restrict the user's power. Other than that, the user is also affected by the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.

Usage[]

Hraesvelgr Laegjarn utilizes the Kaze Kaze no Mi to enhance his combat capabilities with his twin axes. By channeling wind into his swings, he generates powerful air slashes capable of cutting through steel and striking from a distance; most think regular air slashes are moves that will most certainly hunt their target down, as they don't notice he's controlling where they go.

His control over wind allows him to create gusts to destabilize opponents and propel himself into the air for increased mobility, a rare feat for someone his size, meaning he can move around like a blur, which many wouldn't expect.

History[]

Past[]

Sometime in the past, Hraesvelgr Laegjarn, a young giant of the Hræsvelgr Clan, a small clan of Elbaph, renowned as vigilant lookouts and skilled fishermen and sailors who safeguarded the island, known for their sharp eyesight at the ripe age of 18—a mere child by Giant standards came across the wreckage of a tiny ship, among the scattered debris, he came across an otherwordly fruit, while small, he still ate it, and inadvertently unleashed a violent whirlwind.

Showing his childhood friend he foolishly declared with this fruit, he'd one day wed her.
