Road Back Home[]

In the tumultuous world where violence and rumors intertwined in a dangerous dance, whispers of an impending war spread with alarming speed. These whispers, fueled by fear and uncertainty, foretold of a conflict that could reshape the very balance of power across the whole world. However, only those at the top of the hierarchy would be aware of this, and that included the Yonko and King of Elbaf - Heidrun Thrymr.

Unlike him, Heidrun Skadi was not the receiver of such information, not in its totality. Instead, what she received was a call from her father through the Den Den Mushi. She was happy to hear from him, but shocked at what she had to hear. He had kept up with her exploits and was proud of her growth at the seas. He asked for her to return home so that he could see it in person and mold it further.

However, Thrymr left out the fears of war. He didn't want Skadi to scoff off such concerns as a means to join the war to prove herself foolishly. Instead, he tempted her with the knowledge of power he possessed. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her, and that is exactly what Thrymr wanted. Skadi set out for the long road home. The New World was a long and dangerous stretch, but it would be safe enough as Skadi only stopped at territories like Vinland for supplies. However, this time they did not. They had to stop to restock food and the nearest island was outside of Elbaf's dominion.

"I can't believe we are going home..." Skadi said to herself, thinking of her own journey and looking over her own crew. They had grow in strength and numbers as they stood eight years at sea. The grand quest for home was their most important yet.

Meanwhile...

Sailing solemnly across the seas, a vessel brought with it a dark atmosphere. Seas bubbling with free-spirited fish fell silent in its wake. A ship with a fossilized figure head of an ancient hunter. A show of the fierce might of its crew, a sign of its captain's might, and to many... a warning. A ship belonged to a pirate, a man who brought pain to some and left others in fear. A pirate whom matched the ferocity of the beast which he turned. The man had one name, Volcaine, a name that matched his fiery temper. Urging to erupt at any breaking moment into a devastating tower of flames.

But strangely, on this very day, the man who was said to leave his opponents mangled and torn. And the captain of the feared Prehistoric Pirates. He was not looking for his next prey. His next opponent to strike down and overcome. Instead, he was preparing.

Alas, the world was changing, and at an alarming rate. As an ally to the Animal Kingdom, he had heard of what was to come. A war was brewing, and he knew he would need to be ready when the first cannon fired.

But as luck would have it, unbeknownst to the mighty pirate, an interaction was destined as two ships sailed. Growing ever closer until the moment of truth arrives. For the same island, which he had personally set a course to. Currently, held a powerful pirate of its own.

When his ship arrived, anchoring off the coast like a vulture looming above a fresh carcass. Volcaine rose from the ship's interior, being greeted swiftly by his first mate. "Captain, I trust you can sense it?"

"Yes." A grim voice replied, in a slow and deep tone. The captain walked forward past his most powerful crewmate. "I will go see who this presence belongs to. You said they wouldn't be here for another few hours; stay on the ship and wait until they arrive." Without a moment for his friend to reply, the ship rocked back and forth as Volcaine's hulking body left its deck. Soaring through the air with the grace of a boulder rolling down a hill. Before landing with a crash on the island's beach. From that point, he started walking slowly, searching.

Skadi looked annoyed. The crew drew straws to decide who would go and grab the supplies. Skadi ended up with the short straw, designating her to be the one to go do the shopping. She was the captain, how could she be made to do such menial tasks - never mind that she insisted on joining the game for fun. "Bah, it's for the best. I'll get the good stuff! If it was Nott, they'd buy a bunch of weird shit!"

As she made her way towards the market, Skadi felt uneasy. Kenbunshoku Haki wasn't her strongest form of Haki, but she could do well to sense strong presences. One was nearing the island, nearing her. She knew the dangers of New World well, people of power always made their way through its sea. However, Skadi grinned. Maybe if it was a big name, she could pull a victory before returning home to impress her father.

So instead of cowering and fleeing to her ship, she pulled out a Den Den Mushi. "Hey Njord, something popped up on the island that I wanna go see. Would you mind getting the supplies for me? I'll make it up to you later!" Skadi said sweetly. However, she hung up the call before he could even fully respond. Trusting her Wotan friend due to his great loyalty, Skadi instead raced towards the direction of the presence.

At the same time, Volcaine had finally reached the town. Thanks to his size, it wasn't difficult to spot the only other giant humanoid in the area. He stood with his arms crossed, watching as Skadi made her way in his direction. As much as he didn't need a fight right now, he couldn't just let the giantess go wondering towards his ship. Where his crew waited to meet someone. So standing, just on the outskirts of the town, he asked. "What purpose do you have here?"

Skadi looked the large man over. He was massive compared to the average citizens of the island, but still much shorter than her. "I am- well, was gathering supplies for my crew for our return home." As she examined the man, something in her head was warning her he wasn't a pushover.

As she tried to place his identity, her brow furrowed slightly in concentration. Skadi was not known for her intelligence, but made up for it with a keen memory for faces and reputations. She knew he wasn't among the infamous Yonko, the four most powerful pirates in the world, whose names and deeds had been drilled into her by Thrymr. "You look familiar," Skadi remarked in annoyance at her forgetfulness, her eyes narrowing slightly as she tried to connect the dots.

"Just getting supplies?" Volcaine scoffed at his own paranoia. There seemed to be no risk of her interfering with his crew's affairs. "I see." Lowering his arms, he started turning around. Ignoring her comments about trying to recognize him. If it weren't for civilians running away from the sight of him, yelling aloud his name, for all to hear. Then he'd have just been leaving the scene before anything happened.

Skadi shrugged. "Need it to make it home to Elbaf-" Skadi stopped herself, realizing she may have said too much. The return home could now become more annoying and difficult if Volcaine figured out her identity. The man was imposing, with Skadi recognizing his possible strength through her Kenbunshoku Haki.

She tightened her grip on the hammer. "I don't think you came out here just to see if I was grocery shopping though, skull head," said Skadi as she raised the hammer to her shoulder. "I think you smelled blood in the water," grinned the girl happily.

As she looked upon them man, the gears finally clicked. Her eyes widened and her grin grew. "Wait a sec, you're Volcaine, right? Prehistoric Pirates and a subordinate to Eris? My dad met her a long time ago," Skadi said as she allowed small flickers of lightning to emit from her hammer. She did this to be reminiscent of the Mink queen, not knowing the lightning of her hammer reflected the great Eris more than she knew.

"Watch your tongue, girl." Volcaine warned, turning just enough to see her raising her hammer. "And be careful who you raise your weapon at." By now, his intentions of leaving peacefully were beginning to fade. He'd grown used to people only remembering his crew as subordinates. But the sheer audacity Skadi was showing was beginning to get on his nerves.

"You're more by the books than I expected, I thought the caveman get up... well, I thought we'd already be fighting," Skadi said she seemed shocked by the man's orders, shocked and slightly bored. She always heard Eris and her crew were proud and fierce, maybe she let the quality dip for subordinate crews since they didn't full impact her fame.

Skadi grinned though. "Come on, big guy. Don't you wanna make Eris happy about you? I'll sweeten the pot, I'm wanting to make a Yonko happy too," Skadi said with a grin. Indicating her massive height, even over the caveman, she made a face as if to say isn't it obvious?

"He doesn't have it these days, but years ago he was a menace to giant slavers and feared for his fiery red hair appearing. I'm a subordinate to ol' King Thrymr." She just conveniently left out saying he was her father.

Gigantic Struggle[]

Volcaine sighed; he didn't care for her criticism, but he was starting to consider more and more the possibility of a good fight. "Very well, Daughter of Thrymr." Lifting his fist, a coating of darkness was brushed over his skin. "But first, gladiators need an arena." Pulling his arm in, he rapidly backhanded the air with a powerful explosion of invisible energy. Utilizing the force of Haki in a ranged attack, the buildings in front of him were torn apart as if they were hay in a hurricane.

Then, as the force flew through the air, it crashed into more buildings in its path. Rubble rose and debris fell as his strike created a clean battlefield in front of him. Stretching far enough for it to nearly reach the Giantess herself.

"Was Thrymr being my dad that obvious?" Skadi asked, obvious to her hinting at it. She cracked her neck and stared down Volcaine. "Alright Caveman, let's see what you can do!"

"I see you can emit your Haki! Pretty awesome! Not to sound too spoiled, but my dad taught me how to do the same!" Skadi said as she looked at the shorter man. She readied her hammer. "I've heard the Prehistoric Pirates are particularly brutal, show me that power!" Skadi shouted as she ran forth. She raised her hammer, having the top of it face Volcaine.

Despite her size, she was considerably fast. Her strength was well known at this point too, the great Berserker of Elbaf. Now, she just had to prove it to this worthy foe. She lunged her hammer forth, spinning it as she did. This was actually a technique her mom created, but Skadi learned it and improved on it with her Devil Fruit. "Mauling Gjallar!"

"Nimble." Was all Volcaine replied with, as his arm changed. His skin, as tough as it was, became tougher. More reptilian in texture, and his hand started to turn into a claw. Before his arm lunged out, as if to catch the speed drill-like hammer. But before any impact could happen, he sent a burst of haki out of his palm. Empowered with the sharp shape of his clawed hand. The force flew forward, aiming to stop Skadi in her tracks. As fast as she was, it only meant there was that much more of a gap between the two fighters raw strength.

Skadi felt the sharp force collide with her hammer. She remained strong and resolute, standing her ground and not sliding back. She grinned at the power of Volcaine. "Oooh, dino mode already," Skadi cooed as she looked at the partially hybrid state of Volcaine. The massive reptiles were symbols of power that even the giants of Elbaf respected - many young giants played with toys modeled after them. Skadi herself had a few, favoring the brachiosaurus. "Good power, but you seem to be keeping distance. Afraid even a great dinosaur can't hang with a giantess?"

"You seem pretty good at projecting that Haki, let me take a crack at it!" Skadi declared as she swung her hammer with magnificent force. To an unknowing onlooker, it likely looked like she was swinging at literally nothing at all. However, an invisible force raced from the hammer - carrying the full force of her swing in it. "Crushing Utgard!" shouted the giantess with a grin.

Pulling his transformed arm down close to his face, Volcaine watched Skadi's next move while his arm returned to normal. He didn't speak; he had nothing to say to an enemy who only wished to tease. As her invisible strike approached, he recognized it. The very method of an attack that he specialized in and had been using. But he was more than confident in his ability to push past it. So as he started to walk forward, he swiped his arm up again. Sending his will forward with force that rivaled Skadi's own attack.

Air shot back in both fighters directions as Volcaine remained stoic. Though strikes in the dirt beneath him showed he'd lost some ground. But he was unharmed by the might of Skadi's emissons, as his arm came to rest by his side. "My turn." Is all he said, before raising his leg up off the ground, with darkness coating it. "Eruption." With a mighty stomp, his limb slammed against the earth. Sending a crack that grew quickly towards his opponent. Large chunks of earth shot out of the ground, some risking to strike Skadi's, and they soon began to fall.

But that threat would become a certainty as Volcaine leaped up and off the ground. Before he reached a large boulder about as big as he was. And punched it. Sending the large object barreling through the air towards the giant woman. But as he began to fall, he expelled his haki outwards, propelling him to the side. From which he arrived at more falling debris, which was swiftly sent at Skadi. Repeating the process as quickly as he could. He shot four chunks of earth at the giant, with several others threatening to strike her as they fell.

Skadi saw the chunks of earth risking to strike her. While Volcano's leg was coated in Haki, that did not mean the earth was. Instead of panicking, she allowed her body to form into alcohol. The huge stones entered her alcoholic body and floated within her. With a grin, she looked at Volcaine. "I don't typically like my drinks on the rocks," Skadi said with a grin.

The stones shifted in her fluid body and flowed towards her open left hand. She began to blast the stones from her palm with great streams of liquor, firing the rocks right back at Volcaine. This fired rapidly like a gun, sending a spray of stone bullets at the man. Skadi finally finished firing the stones as she launched herself forward following the stone.

Skadi's hammer began to crackle with lightning as she kicked off one of her stone bullets and into the sky. "Vingthor Strike!" shed shouted as a burst of lightning burst from her hammer.

"Hmph." Volcaine shrugged at seeing his attack fail, landing on the ground with a thud as he prepared another attack. Only to put a hold on his efforts as the rocks were sent back at him. Truthfully a trivial attack, even worse so then when he used it. As it was, but a line of rubble rather than projectiles from multiple directions. And as his fist rose up, he started to punch the rocks as they came near. One after another, sending them away from their new target.

In a few moments, he successfully dealt with the stream of earth. But was faced with another unwelcoming sight of Skadi being airborne. With the sight of electricity beginning to form on her hammer. A sight at which Volcaine was visible annoyed by. On his own, he had no way to successfully avoid such attacks. And there wasn't time to make a countermeasure.

So doing the simplest thing he could think of. He decided to test just how strong her lightning was. And the fact his opponent was airborne could actually be beneficial. "Your open for an attack." He mumbled, as his limbs all changed in shape and size. He grew rapidly, and with a leap, his body began to soar through the air. Transforming into his full form as he did. In a matter of seconds, a large giganotosaurus was soaring towards Skadi.

"Ferocious Bite!" He yelled in a deeper tone. With a coating of haki appearing on his upper body as he flew. His jaw opened wide before smacking down on seemingly nothing. In reality, he sent a wave of haki in the form of his sharp toothed jaw at his opponent. So while he was left to take on her own lightning attack. He made sure she wouldn't be left without something to deal with.

As his braced, he felt the electricity connect. Haki, as powerful as it was, did nothing against the substance. But his scaly skin was at least a bit useful in protecting him, as he relied solely on his own durability to persevere. The lightning was powerful and caused incredible pain. But it was nothing he couldn't overcome. So as he continued soaring towards his opponent. The lightning created a black coating on some of his reptilian body from where the lightning connected. He opened his jaws again, this time preparing for a more plain strike of his jaws. Without emissions to send his bite forward.

As Skadi soared through the air, her lightning crackling and sizzling around her hammer, she caught sight of Volcaine's transformation. The giganotosaurus was a massive and intimidating sight, but Skadi's focus remained sharp. The lightning from her Vingthor Strike connected with Volcaine, and she could see the blackened marks on his scales. The sheer force of the electric attack lit up the sky, illuminating Volcaine's form. Skadi wasn't shocked to see how well he took it, but knew she could do more with the hammer too.

Skadi, her eyes narrowed with concentration, saw the giant jaws of the dinosaur open wide, preparing for the ranged bite. She knew she had to react swiftly. Swinging Mjolnir, another burst of Haki flew from it. The force of the bite and hammer struggled against one another, creating an unyielding storm of wind and power.

"Full dino mode, this is so cool!" Skadi excitedly shouted as the new form of Volcaine can at her with the intent to bite her. The giantess wasn't dumb enough to just let herself be bitten, as the experienced fighter could infuse his fangs with Haki in merely a moment. Instead, Skadi swung her lightning infused hammer to be caught within his mouth. Skadi prepared her left arm to strike, with her hand transforming into a blade of alcohol. She lunged forth with the land, aiming it into Volcaine's side. The blade, acting as a water-jet cutter, could shred through even those thick scales.

In his human form, Volcaine was around the size of Skadi's hammerhead. But in his transformation, he gained an incredible boost in size that made him nearly the size of the giantess herself. While they benefited him in most cases, it actually proved to be quite a hinderance. His wide open jaws were big enough to fully grasp around the hammer as his teeth and its metal collided. An action that left him momentarily stunned.

With his teeth attempting to carve into the metal of the hammer. Volcaine found any attempt to break it to be difficult. And as his eyes caught sight of Skadi's blade. He shifted his focus off of breaking the weapon. Her lightning, while problematic, seemed like child's play compared to the blade of alcohol the giantess was using now. And he had no interest in getting hit by Skadi's strike.

Tightening his grip on the hammer, Volcaine put all his effort into pulling Skadi's. Using her own hammer as a means of controlling her maneuverability in the air. With a downward push, he turned his head down with a forceful jerk. Sending a head-on burst of emissions out of his mouth as he did. He sent the hammer and Skadi, were she not to let go, away from him and straight into the ground below. While the recoil from his emissions sent him further into the air.

As Skadi was blown back, Skadi grinned. The burst of emission was strong, but Skadi was skilled in the power herself. Hardened her body, she mostly skirted on the burst - albeit still feeling the force a strong blow to her body. As she was thrown from the dinosaur, the hammer was still lined up with the beast's mouth.

The surging lightning crackled from the hammer, a bolt of electricity escaped aimmed directly into Volcaine's open mouth. "Vingthor Strike!" shouted Skadi as a powerful bolt of lightning burst towards the might beast. Skadi finally landed away from Volcaine, slamming her hammer into the ground to slow her from sliding back further.

Pushing up, Skadi grinned. "I'm curious Volcaine, how do fight best? A lot of emission, that's for sure. Happy dad taught me that, otherwise I'd be throw around here a lot more," laughed the giantess. "But Zoans are all so picky about human and beast and hybrid, I just wonder if I'm fighting what you think is the strongest," Skadi said as he body began to shine. Light reflected from her as if she was covered in liquid, and she was.

Holding her hammer out, lightning crackled and a bolt of it struck her arm. Alcohol is a poor conductor, so the didn't feel the attack very much at all. However, the heat of the lightning was strong enough to ignite the alcohol. Skadi's full form was quickly enveloped in fire. To most this would be horrifying, but Skadi grinned beneath the flames. "Surtr Grand Spirit!" Skadi sprayed a stream of liquor at Volcaine, it flowing in powerful flames to incinerate Volcaine.

The electricity the encircled Skadi's hammer had its effects of Volcaine even after he'd launched it away. The dinosaur's mouth tingled with the remaining electricity. But it was nothing that would cause any issues. What came next, however, looking down upon Skadi as she charged her hammer. Volcaine repeated what he'd done earlier to maneuver midair. Unleashing his haki out into the open air to produce a shockwave that propelled him back.

Without a second to spare, he watched as the bolt of lightning surged through the air. But alass, only hitting as much. Before he finally landed on the ground some ways away from Skadi. And in no mood to have a conversation with her. While the sight of her transformation in liquor, only to ignite herself, was interesting. He didn't believe it would cause much trouble for a range style of fighting. With only her own ranged attacks being troublesome.

And as Skadi made her move, so did Volcaine. Stomping his clawed foot against the ground, the force caused the terrain to shift. The earth beneath his foot began to be pushed down. While further away in the direction of the giantess. The earth rose from the ground, acting like a balance board. Where he pushed it down, the ground rose on the other end. And as it did, it not only blocked line of sight but prevented her attack from hitting him immediately. Two factors, which he planned to exploit.

In a instant, he started to charge forward, directly up the now elevated chunk of land. Until he reached the peak of the newly formed rock. Reaching higher than either of the two fighters, he was overlooking Skadi. And as his leg enveloped in haki, he imbued that into a piece of the rock below him. Stomping on it once he was finished, he sent a chunk of earth down to the giantess, attempting to crush her. And as it fell, him along with it.

Skadi grinned at the dinosaur was upon her, raining down from the sky like in a prehistoric freefall. Skadi charged her leg with Haki, allowing the flames to grow hotter and more violent as her truly form was protected. She kicked back at the reptile with all her strength. Their nearly equal size made it a powerful clash. Volcaine was fueled by the strength of his Ancient Zoan, Haki, and his downward momentum. However, Skadi's natural giant strength stood strong. She could launch ships, now she improved her power with Haki too and was use to this size all the time.

Skadi pushed with all her might, grinning as she felt the strain in her leg. Ultimately she used the power of their strength against one another to launch her back, releasing her pressure enough to allow her to slide back. As the girl was still ablaze, she left a trail of fire as she moved. She slammed her hammer down into the earth, with her arms transforming into flaming blades. "Alright Volcaine, let's go all out!" shouted Skadi as she ran at the man full speed.

His enlarged form made him a bigger target. Skadi was fast and strong, she could take advantage of this. Slashing her arms together, she released a x-shaped burst of fire. "Gram Tipsy Execution!" shouted the girl as the attack raced forth - threatening to cut and sear the dinosaur. However, she chased after the attack, leaping into the air to lunge her bladed arms into the dinosaur in a vicious stab.

As Volcaine fell, the stone beneath him protected against the flames emanating from Skadi. His weight alone acts as a tool to bring forth damage to his opponent. And as she began to withdrew, he landed on the ground with the rock being crushed beneath him. No longer imbued with the incredible might of his will to increase its strength.

Watching closely as his opponent moved, more a moment Volcaine misread what she was doing. Charging forward with his head down, he braced to strike her head on. At this point, being coated in busoshoku haki creating an incredibly durable layer of armor. As he collided with the twin strikes launched by the giantess. His natural defenses laced with his haki protected him mostly against the strikes. His lowered head prevented him from taking attacks anywhere other than his well-protected back.

And while the fire was strong, reaching past the invisible layer of haki covering his back. Leaving black streaks alone, his reptilian scales. Without the force of the strikes carrying it along or a fuel source to continue burning. The flames quickly died, leaving only Skadi's following strike. Realizing he'd yet to strike the giantess, Volcaine stopped his stampede. Raising his head to see her soaring through the air again.

But unlike before, he hadn't time to react to this move. Only bracing his body in advance for the impact. And as it came, the bladed appendage replacing Skadi's arms, striking against his hardened body. With a great deal of resilience, they eventually broke through the hardened layers of his skin. Descending into his muscles and starting to burn away at his flesh.

In a rapid maneuver to take control of the situation. He swung his weight to the side. Completely toppling over to use Skadi's strike against her. Sending the giantess plummeting to the earth before too much leeway could be made in her attack.

Skadi grinned maliciously as she saw her blade arms cut into the flesh of Volcaine. The fight was feeling a bit stalemated, now it seemed like there was progress and it was in her favor. However, Skadi also brought to the ground by the reptile's sudden fall. She had to act fast, she knew there was danger in being near the dinosaur's powerful clawed feet as he could easy apply Haki to them and stomp on her.

Skadi's legs turned into a spout of flaming alcohol, giving her contact with the ground before she slammed on her side. Using the spout, she snaked around Volcaine quickly before reforming her legs midair. This allowed the remaining spout to disperse into flaming booze to rain upon Volcaine. Kicking off the air itself, Skadi landed beside her hammer and lifted it in one of her hands. A small film of fire enveloped it for a moment as she crashed it into the earth, sending a powerful web of electricity from all around the impact in multiple powerful bolts. "Vingthor Earth Shaker!" shouted the giantess as the bolts reached Volcaine.

Putting all his weight to his other side, Volcaine remained standing after his successful maneuver. A stinging pain present in his back from the wound irritated him. But it was nothing compared to prior injuries like the lightning. And his will to push forward was too strong to falter to a mere stab wound. No matter how much blood trickled down from the holes in his skin.

As he analyzed Skadi's movements, her peculiar use of alcohol as a propellant was intriguing. He'd seen similar methods of traversal from elementals, all of which were equally troublesome. Particularly through the aftermath of such actions. And in Skadi's case, the aftermath was the burning alcohol that now began to scold his legs when she first moved. But that was as far as the damage would go before he reflexively pushed off the ground. Soaring for a moment before he landed dozens of meters back. And as the giantess also moved away, there was a large field of rubble and flames between the two.

After all this fighting, it seemed things had just returned to square one. And while he wasn't too fond of keeping distance like this, after such actions hadn't shown any positive results. He would be a fool to get too close to the flames. It was a dilemma for sure; if he attempted to extinguish the fire, he hadn't a doubt she'd just reignite them. Though perhaps he could take a page from her book.

Beginning to think up a plan of attack, he was forced to return his attention to Skadi as she made her next move. Now with her hammer and slamming it into the ground, Volcaine knew only one thing could come from that. But rather than going on the offensive, he chose a different approach. Still in the form of a dinosaur, he pushed off the ground. Sending himself hurtling through the air, but he knew this made him vulnerable to strikes from her lightning. And wasted no time in changing his form, the moment his feet left the ground, his body became humanoid.

But not entirely, while the shape was correct. He remained coated in dark green scales, his hands armed with pitch-black razor-sharp claws, an elongated tail sprouting from his back, and a skull that looked like the mix of a human with a reptile. At last, taking the fight to the next level, he utilized the hybrid form of his fruit.

Without a second's notice, he coated and swept his clawed hands forward. Sharp strips of wind forming with the swinging of his hands. And just as quickly as they formed, they began to travel swords the giantess with malicious intent. Nearly making an x formation in the air as they flew forward. And before he could remain vulnerable for any longer, Volcaine had already landed, scanning the ground for pieces of rubble. Though still keeping an eye on his opponents movements.

"Hybrid! excited shouted Skadi as the man fell towards her. However, as me made the X-shaped attack in the air, Skadi had to act quickly. Throwing her hammer up, she used the weapon itself as a shield. Even from a distance, she could feel the strength of the attack push her weapon down. Part of the attack was blocked, though some carried forth. Skadi grimaced slightly as she felt a cut appear on her leg, one she neither predicted or prepared for with her Haki or fruit. "Tch, mending boots is the worst," she said in annoyance as she ignored the pain.

The giganotosaurus man seemed to disappear behind the rubble. Skadi grew even more annoyed as a result. "I thought dinosaurs were supposed to be apex predators! What's with the whack-a-mole shit!?" Skadi said angrily. It was no matter, Skadi would flush out the man with a flood of fire. Jumping back to the boundary of their makeshift arena, Skadi pulled all the alcohol she had generated back to her. This trailed fire throughtout all the terrain, threatening to scorch the man. However, the true power of her attack came with pushing it back out with excess alcohol - forming a wave of fire.

"Come on Volcaine, I thought you served Eris! This is kinda boring so far!"

The sound of a rumble being pushed around was heard, just out of the giantess's view. Only for Volcaine to emerge, immediately noticing the alcohol pulling fire throughout the arena. Which in itself was not something he was too worried about. A few unpowered flames weren't enough to even phase him. Merely sweeping his hands around, blowing any flames that were too close out with the wind.

But when the giantess pushed the liquid back out in a wave, he was forced to react if he didn't want to meet the flames head-on. So, in repeated a familiar motion, his arms raised up. To the point of blocking his face, forming an x-shaped barrier in front of him. And as the haki-stained limbs swept back out, a wave of power followed in suite.

Utilizing the very power that cleared the playing field before, Volcaine pushed the wave back. Invertedly extinguishing the fire that was created prior as well. He didn't expect her own fire to cause Skadi any harm. But as the wave was pushed back, it began to block line of sight for both of them. Leaving Volcaine to make a somewhat risky yet unexpected play with how he'd been fighting.

Dashing forward, he covered the distance Skadi's made much quicker than he could in human form. The powerful leg strength provided by hybrid allows him to move at incredible speeds, even with his size. And as he approached, he began to ready his claws. Aiming one near where her upper body was. While the other went for the legs, he fully intended to strike her directly. Even with her body of fire, a mere few moments of contact in a surprise attack shouldn't be detrimental.

Skadi could only grin as Volcaine ran at her, his claws ready as he closed the distance. Dropping her hammer, both of Skadi’s arms turned into Gram Tipsy Blades. The blades maintained the fire of the Surtr Grand Spirit form, crackling with fiery energy. She readied the blades to match the claws of the hybrid form of Volcaine. “Let’s so this! Who is better!? The dinosaur or the giant?” excitedly questioned Skadi, her excitement infectious.

With her blades poised and the flames swirling around her, she felt a rush of energy as she charged her foes. "Don’t you dare hesitate! Show me your power!” Skadi could sense his intent with his claws, and with a swift motion, she lunged to meet him. The blades surged with power, leaving trails of fire in their wake. “Come on, give me your best shot!” she taunted, her eyes sparkling with challenge.

Volcaine quickly became aware of her actions. Despite knowing she wouldn't be unprepared, Volcaine didn't alter his course. Rather, continuing forward, he put more strength and power into his attack. What was intended to be a quick strike became more. And with that, the two behemoths clashed. Hardened ale and haki-infused claw collided between. Seemingly unmoving if not for the showers of sparks flying from the clashing weapons.

Skadi’s smile only grew more twisted as the two clashed. To be dueling with a man with the power of the dinosaurs was undeniably cool. As the two clashed, sparks flew and only further ignited the fiery attack around them. Skadi pushed further into the attack, feeling the deadlock of the two. Skadi grinned though, knowing she could take advantage of this.

Suddenly, alcoholic tendrils sprouted from her back. Rapidly, they took on the form of blades too. Skadi launched the blades at Volcaine in such a close range in the deadlock. To evade it, Volcaine needed a miracle.

This clear visual was not unseen to the eyes of Volcaine. He braced his reptilian skin, darkness coating him in preparation. As the bladed appendages attempted to strike, his durable body held up. Even more glowing sparks rose from every strike against his skin. It was clear to him that holding this clash was a fruitless endeavor. His opponent is able to strike with more than just limbs. And while his defenses held for now, that was not a permanent solution. The prior strikes still bleeding made him even just that little bit more susceptible to her attacks.

Channeling the might of his natural and hybrid forms strength. Volcaine began to gain ground in the duel. His clawed feet were digging and pushing against the earth as he pushed against his opponent. He decided to let off a cheap strike of his own. His jaw, that of a dinosaur, quickly opened before snapping shut. It looked like nothing, but he'd sent a wave of air with the might of his snapping jaw straight at the giantess's head.

With her Busoshoku active, Skadi could sense the incoming chomp. Volcaine had previously shown his command over Haki, even with his jaws alone - to which Skadi presumed the nature of his attack. Using the several tendrils, Skadi prepared her own counter by releasing a force of Haki back at Volcaine. The two forces slammed in the middle, creating a powerful maelstrom of wind as each giant force fought for dominance. Skadi breathed in deep, summoning the very strength of her soul against Volcaine.

With it, a powerful surge raced from her body. It was not a dynamic force, not a wave of energy like that of emission. It was the raw power of Skadi's indomitable spirit, the power of a conqueror. Skadi released it, hoping to force Volcaine to kneel. The captain of the Jotunn Pirates, the future queen of Elbaf, Skadi would make the world know she was more than just the child of Thrymr. Pointing her right arm to Volcaine, she focused all the intent on him to crush him under her power. With a cry, she pushed her power greatly.

The knowledge of this ability was well known to the ancient fighter. And the reveal of his opponent's ability to use it was intriguing. For the first time during the fight, he let a grin flash across his face. To him, this was a sign that this was more than any normal pirate. Even more than plain royalty, he was clashing with another supreme king. That fact, that single piece of information, was enough to excite him. It wasn't common to fight someone this strong, let alone someone with this ability. And he decided he didn't want to let this opportunity go to waste.

Dust and rock filled the air, as the wind seemed to be pushed away by the force of the clash. But as the giantess unleashed her will upon the land, so did the caveman. Black lightning crackled through the air at the force of their wills fighting for dominion. Any civilians who hadn't had the brain to flee fell into a slumber immediately. The parts of the town that hadn't been destroyed were getting demolished by the might of the clash. As no longer was it a fight concentrated between the two. But a wave of destruction that began to dismantle their surroundings.

As the two clashed with the power of a conqueror, more black sparks filled the air. Skadi’s grinning grew. Finally, a fight in which she was pushing the true power of her very essence. Skadi continued to push against the might dinosaur - their struggle to establish the stronger of the two. However, Skadi had to accept that neither were going to fold.

As such, Skadi’s alright outreached hand began to liquify once more. With it, the alcohol of her form began to compress into a powerful bullet. Aiming for Volcaine’s head, the alcohol began to darken as Skadi’s Busoshoku Haki was infused into it - showing her still to do so naturally and quickly with a liquid. In an instant, the bullet was fired and more formed.

Lightning continued to shake the battlefield as Volcaine felt the sting of a bullet striking his head. Only then realizing one of his claws wasn't bound by a clash any longer. A single bullet fired was barely anything to be concerned about for him. However, he quickly noticed Skadi formed more to launch at him. In a quick movement to not only avoid but to attack. Volcaines arm shifted towards the newly formed firearm.

Grabbing hold of the limb, he pushed it away from him. Preventing anymore alcoholic bullets to strike him. And while the burning sensation of direct contact with her fiery form pained him, he didn't need to keep it for long. Using his grip, he began to pull the giantess up, attempting to swing her by the arm before slamming her down into the ground. His other claw, while still locked in a clash, began to push against her as well, attempting to further this goal.

Skadi was shocked by the speed of Volcaine. Despite their clashing Haoshoku, Volcaine moved quite well. Skadi had more to learn it seemed, but such thoughts were fleeting as he grabbed on to her and swung her. Suddenly, Skadi was hoisted into the air. She could feel the claws digging into her, Skadi wincing in pain as blood flowed from the wound.

However, as she was now in the air, Skadi breathed in and fired what seemed to be bullet from her mouth, burning with fire and power still. The burning breath rained down as Skadi craned her head to keep face-to-face. As Volcaine attempted to slam her into the earth, Skadi went up in a big splash. Since only her arm was gripped, she allowed the rest of her burning body to burst into burning booze that would splatter everywhere.

Rapidly reforming, Skadi pulled away with all the fire spreading. Her hands turned back into the blade forms. “So you have the power of a conqueror too? Shouldn’t be shocked, you had to be made a subordinate crew for a reason,” Skadi said as she shot forth as a torrent. She raised her bladed hands, ready to deliver a finishing blow if it struck right.

The fire spread just as Skadi had planned, there was no way for Volcaine do avoid it. As the scolding liquid flooded his surrounded. Splashing over his skin and spreading fire with it. The fire was a pain that stung like needles. But he was too strong to fall to it. Though it also did the favor of cauterizing his earlier wounds. What was a slow stream of leaking blood became a disinfected sealed wound on his back.

As the alcohol spread across the earth around him. The liquid seeping through the rocks and starting up the once torment embers from before. He remained steadfast in his stance, only moving his tail. Slapping the earth hard enough to create an echoing shockwave. Wind pushed against his surroundings, over him. Most of the fire surrounding his back was pushed back or put out. It was not a solution, only pushing back the flames from covering him while. But it bought time.

”Silence your bickering.” What seemed like his first real statement since the fight started. Volcaine struck forth with both claws. Open wide as if ready to grab hold of his opponent. “Kodairyu Kenpo: Extinction” He muttered, bringing his claws forward while a tint of black laid over them. At the moment of impact between himself and the giantess. He expelled the force of his will out from his palms. It would be as if Skadi were taking for force of his blow twice over. Once from his emissions before his claws actually struck her.

"No, running my mouth is part of my charm," said Skadi, her stupid self still grinning as the jurassic man attacked. However, as he attacked, Skadi was blown back. She coughed violently, a bit of blood flowing from her mouth. Had she lacked the durablity of a giantess, she surely would have been dead. However, she was a giantess and more - she was the child of Thrymr and the captain of the Jotunn Pirates. She would not kneel over so easily.

Grinning with blood stained teeth, Skadi allowed tendrils to form from her back. "I will show you silence though, silence that comes from defeat!" Skadi as the many fists darkened with Haki. Suddenly, a barrage of fists rained down on Volcaine, each carrying the full strength of Skadi. "Go extinct dino man!" Skadi shouted as she ran towards Volcaine, her misformed body due to her powers ready for conflict. Skadi's desire to be seen for her own power was evident in each blow against Volcaine. What she lacked in refinement, she made up for in adaptibility and raw power.

Volcaine didn't react, not even at the sight of Skadi being hurt. Rather, he did something quite odd. He didn't move as she began to rush towards him. Not even showing a sign that he was bother by her advances. Instead, he focused on his body. It was out of view of the giantess, but his tail began to shrink. Like a spring being pulled back, with pressure coagulating in mass.

He rarely ever revealed his ancient hunting technique to anyone. No one who he considered worthy of its usage. But he'd seen enough to consider Skadi worth it. As his tail retracted, tension rose until he muttered. "Kodairyu Kenpo: Eruption," His legs became coated in darkness as his body lifted off the ground. It happened so fast, his tail shot back against the ground. As the same time, he leaped forward. His legs aimed right for Skadi's attack.

Meanwhile, the ground from which he once stood cracked. Shaking the very surface of the battlefield with the force of a earthquake. It wasn't large scale, only the immediate area became affected. But it was enough to cause any creature to fall under the imbalance. Including the giantess herself. Leaving her to worry about keeping her footing. Whilst the stomping force of the ancient reptile shot towards her in a devastating dropkick.

The sudden attack was a surprise. Skadi had dealt with power of springs before, so to see the powerful lord of the Jurassic Pirates have a similar power... it felt oddly nostalgic. Skadi focused her many arms to clash with Volcaine's attack, the sheer number and size allowing her to keep up. However, the sheer force of the attack sent Skadi flying with him, clinging to him as her anchor.

Skadi flinched in pain. The strength of the dinosaur's form was apparant and her extra arms were still part of her body. Some of the extra arms began to burst from the strain, spraying alcohol about as it dissipated. As they flew throught the air, Skadi's left leg transformed into a blade of alcohol. "Gram Tipsy Blade!" Skadi shouted as she kicked forth with the powerful blade she had been using with her arms.

Using the attack, Skadi separated from the dinosaur man. She fell to the ground, landing in a superhero-like pose before she recollected herself. "You're full of surprises Volcaine!"
