Etymology[]

  • Inu (イヌ) is Japanese for "dog".
  • Fenrir (フェンリル) is the Norse wolf destined to devour Odin and the father of the two wolves that are destined to devour the Sun and Moon during Ragnarok.
  • The kanji attached to Fenrir (天食狼) translates to "sky-devouring wolf".

Appearance[]

The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Fenrir is a relatively small fruit. It is shaped similarly to that of a cat's paw with claws protruding. Its flesh is primarily black and has white swirl-like patterns over the body. Part of the fruit's skin is pink, creating an appearance akin to that of the pads of a cat's paw. The stem of the fruit protrudes from the opposite of the 'claws', where the cat's wrist would connect. It has been commented on that the stem has a somewhat serpentine appearance.

Trivia[]

  • The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Fenrir was initially approved with gravity-like powers through dark energy it produced, somewhat similar to the Yami Yami no Mi. However, it was reapplied for in the Discord ticket system for its current ability to have an all consuming darkness that takes on the traits of what it consumes.[2]
    • Both of these abilities are based on Fenrir consuming Odin and his sons, Sköll and Hati Hróðvitnisson, consuming the sun and moon during Ragnarök. The initial gravity-based darkness was inspired by the darkness that would follow the three wolves consuming their targets, while the current is acting on the idea of the consumption itself.
