Henry Callum is a Seaman Recruit of the Marines and one of its Chore Boys. Leaving his home island, he wished to serve in the Marines. Having dedicated his life and strength to the welfare and protection of others, he believes in the concept of Humane Justice (仁義ある正義 Jingi aru Seigi?), prioritizing the protection of the innocent over the pursuit of criminals and avoiding as many casualties as possible.

Having only recently begun his naval career, he is still in his original sea, the East Blue. Ambitious young man, he is determined to one day become a formidable soldier of the Navy and make the world a better place.

Appearance[]

Callum appears as a frail and shy person based solely on his physical appearance. He meets everyone with a nervous and shaky smile, often leading them away from him. Even for his age, he looks much younger due to a lack of aged physical features and how he carries himself. His appearance is not very remarkable, being of average size and displaying a slender body. He also has relatively large light brown eyes and brownish blonde hair, styled in bangs that fall in a natural, middle-parted, curtain-type cut.

Like most other officers of his rank, Callum wears a high-collar white jacket with blue stripes along the sleeves and a blue fabric tied around his neck. He was given standard Marine navy blue pants and boots to top his uniform off.

Personality[]

The most defining feature of Callum's personality is his earnest nature. Above all else, Callum pursues his job as a marine with complete sincerity. He is not interested in the money, glory or any other shortcuts available to someone of his stature. Within his heart, he wishes to pursue the path that would lead to the peace of this world. This is why he speaks with his mind and heart, even when faced with superiors and those who speak with a colder logic; however, because of his timidity his superiors and peers often run over him and look down.

He highly commends "the value of life," and to this end, he believes that it is morally unethical for him to take another human's life, and tries to avoid any possibility of doing so unless as a last resort. When he is ordered by his superiors in the Navy and the World Government to participate in a mission, he prefers to take care of saving the innocent, the widow and the orphan, rather than engaging in violent acts that could lead to unnecessary bloodshed.

Callum is very passionate whenever he focuses on achieving certain goals and is pretty stubborn when confronted about them. He is also quite naive because of his inexperience in the naval world, but he turns out to be a fast learner, able to adapt to his environment and quickly pick up everything that is shown to him.

Callum is a quite diligent and strong-willed student, being extremely (and sometimes scarily) enthusiastic about topics related to heroic figures such as Fleet Admiral Kyojin. His dream drives him to write down notes about everything he learns in regards to his superiors' abilities and fighting capacities in notebooks, which he reads when he has free time or at night. Thanks to this practice, he has developed a great analytical mind and can form complex battle plans in a few seconds, factoring in the best ways he can utilize his and others' abilities in order to secure a victory or get out of messy situations.

The young man is a very big fan of Fleet Admiral Kyojin, seeing him as a model and an example to follow. The fact that Kyojin supposedly won the war that ravaged the oceans for two years and led the Navy to defeat two Emperors was a huge source of motivation and inspiration for Callum when he began to consider enlisting into the Marine. He dreams of meeting him one day and often notes the things he hears about him.

Another characteristic of Callum is his willingness to sacrifice himself for others. With an innate sense of justice, Callum never hesitates when it comes to helping someone in need, even though he knows it could cost him his own life.
