Hanamura "Jigokubana" Juzo is a Ronin hailing from the nation of Wano Country in the New World. Disagreeing with the isolationist ideology of the Shogunate, as a young adult Juzo would flee his country to learn more of the outside world.

After spending some years traveling and meeting the woman who would become his wife, Juzo would settle down on the island of Eden just before the War. With Eden acting as an important refueling station for many Marine vessels during the war the nation would become a target of many pirate raids.

It would be during this time that Juzo would earn the name Jigokubana (地獄花, Hell Flower), defending the island alongside his wife and the enigmatic Master from the ranks of the Animal Kingdom, namely Horkos of the Three Kings, claiming the Mink's eye during their battle.

Juzo is a master of Sakura-Ryu, a school of swordsmanship passed down through his clan for many generations.

Sakura-ryu is a balanced blade style of Swordsmanship created by the Hanamura Clan of Wano Country, created long ago first as a way of life and then as a school of swordsmanship. Once called Sakurado (桜道, Way of the Cherry Blossom), the style seeks to paint the swordsman in the light of the Cherry Blossom, a thing of beauty and of death.

The sword style seeks to teach the user to act calmly with gentle footwork and swing with quick, precise strikes. Training in this form of swordsmanship begins during the spring when the cherry blossoms bloom, the user being tasked to strike the falling blossoms in a three hundred and sixty degree range around themselves before they reach the ground with the intention of setting the user down a path of omni-directional awareness.

During it's time as Sakurado, those who chose to practice this way of life were taught to live with the beauty of all things in their eyes. To find beauty in life and in death, to love ones enemy but to never hesitate to cut them down, to respect the living and to honor the dead, the way of the Cherry Blossom taught the fleeting beauty of life and to enjoy it in all of its forms.

Those who followed Sakurado were taught to be kind, generous, and live their lives to the fullest.

Many of these teachings are still passed down from sensei to pupil, but much has been lost as the Sword style changed from a Way of Life to a School of swordsmanship.

Juzo mastered this style of swordsmanship, trained in it vigorously during his youth and still pracitices it to this day. Though for Juzo the sword style was not only a form of art for him, the man harkening back to it's former teachings as a philosophy and way of life. Juzo seeks to embody the cherry blossom in every aspect of his life.

Kitsunebi-Ryu is a style of swordsmanship that allows the user to cut through flames and explosions while remaining perfectly safe. users of this style are also capable of generating flames which they can then use offensively to attack opponents.
