"Wildfire" Hanabi is a former Slave, born in the land of Wano Country to a Samurai family she was kidnapped at a young age and sold into slavery in the West Blue. However, due to her insubordinate and overall stubborn nature she was set ablaze by her owner and left to die.
Surviving her immolation by seemingly sheer force of will alone she would be found and taken in by a Doctor in Kano Country, the Doctor nursing her back to health for several years before training her to defend herself within the harsh waters of the Grand Line where she hoped to travel.

Hanabi is a young woman of average height measuring in at five-foot-eight-inches (172 cm) and weighing approximately one-hundred and fifty pounds (60kg) with short black hair reaching just below her ears and lavender-colored eyes. Hanabi has a slim, muscular build obtained over years of training and further refined after gaining physical enhancements as a result of eating a Zoan-type Devil Fruit. After having been set ablaze in her youth she was left with a body covered in burn scars. Running up from her feet all the way up to her face are several stripe patterned burn scars ending in two prominent burns running up either side of her face.
Hanabi's typical clothing consists of a skin tight, black, sleeveless spandex turtle neck tucked tightly into a pair of black pants held up by a white belt with a golden buckle which themselves are tucked into a pair of tai chi slippers. Her face is adorned with a pair of round lens glasses which she requires to read as her eyes were damaged during her immolation.
Her choice of clothing has a second purpose though, wearing all black not as a fashion statement but rather as a passive way to draw in heat for her body to absorb, the dark black clothing attracting sunlight and giving her a constant source of heat to fuel her abilities so long as she remains in the sun.

Though she would be the last person to consider herself a doctor, it would be during the six years she spent in the care of the doctor who saved her life that Hanabi would be trained in the art of medicine for several different reasons both to help her survive in the harsh waters of the Grand Line as well as that it was important for her to know how to treat and care for the burns that had covered a majority of her body. In her time with her mentor Hanabi would learn a great many skills including but not limited to how to identify many medicial plants, herbs, and roots in the wilds as well as how to prepare those medicial ingrdients into both basic and advanced medicines which she can use to aid herself as frankly, she has no interest in aiding anyone but herself with this knowledge.
Probably the most useful knowledge she gained during her training with the doctor was an immensely indepth understanding of the body and how it functioned. This knowledge was drilled into her head more than any other as it was the root of her training in Qigong, needing to learn the ins and outs of the body and how energy flowed through it in order to even begin to learn the basics of the martial art.

Etymology[]
- Hanabi (火花) is a Japanese name that means "Fireworks" made up of "Hana" meaning flower and "bi" meaning fire thus, "Fire Flower".
- Tengubi (てんぐび) is Japanese meaning "Tengu Fire" and like all of Hanabi's abilities is named after a Yokai. Tengubi being small flames which float above the water of a canal often in times of drought to prevent water thieves from concealing themselves in darkness. It should be noted that while this has nothing to do with a flaming sword, the name was chosen as in Japanese mythos it is the God of the Tengu, Sōjōbō who would teach the legendary warrior Minamoto no Yoshitsune swordsmanship. Thus, I believed the name would be fitting as it continued the Yokai naming theme as well as alludes to the ancient myth of Tengu and Swordsmanship.
