Pregame[]

Pirates are the lawless mutts of the seas, driven by their insatiable greed and ambition. Each crew follows its own agenda, pursuing treasure and power with a ruthlessness that often leads to backstabbing and betrayal within their own ranks. They form loose alliances - only to betray them at the drop of a hat. Above each ship flew a jolly roger, a flag representing the ideals of the crew and often their allegiance to just one captain.

On the other side stood the Marines, the proud, disciplined dogs of the World Government. Their purpose was to enforce the law and maintain order, always clashing with the pirates who threatened that. They are organized, their fleets a formidable sight of uniform ships and well-trained soldiers. They uphold a strict code, and their loyalty to the World Government is unwavering. Though they face the chaos of piracy daily, their resolve is what keeps the seas from descending into complete anarchy. Their flag show their combined belief in the World Government alone.

The tension between these two factions was constant, with battles erupting over islands, treasures, and the control of trade routes. Pirates and Marines alike wish to carve their names into history itself - each side believing their cause is just, and each willing to do whatever it takes to secure their version of victory across the seas.

These fights could be big and small alike. In this case, a literally big target was on the move. Heidrun Skadi, the captain of the Jotunn Pirates, was a chaotic captain who sought fun and pleasure. She engaged various fights across the seas and now was the time to start testing her luck in the final stretch to home: New World. She had been through this gate before to see the easier half of the Grand Line, the opposite of where she was born. The gate was the famous nation of Fish-Man Island.

Being in the Marines alone is a dangerous job that can put you on edge, but knowing secrets about an assassin’s organization makes it even more perilous, as their members are likely to be after you. Yet, the newly appointed Commander Artemis Samantha was resting in a bar on Fishman Island, celebrating alone and gazing up at the sea around her. This was her first stop before she would officially be stationed in the New World, and she had never been happier. The New World was where the action was, and she could rise in rank faster here than anywhere else. But not today. Today, she was off duty and working on a personal investigation.

Skadi soon entered the bar herself, allowing herself and her crew some time to rest and enjoy the underwater civilization. Skadi was particularly happy to see Torrono Njord able to enjoy himself amongst the other half of his kin. Getting to the bartender, Skadi smiled a greedy smile. "Hit me with whatever the special is! Maximize the alcohol!"

The fish-man bartender looked at his. "I'll make it giant size, cher. One Fish-Man Island Iced Tea coming up," spoke the man in a strange accent. He went to work, mixing several different types of liquors, liqueurs, and other mixers into a drink that contained enough alcohol for a whole party - given the size of Skadi. She clapped as she was handed it.

"Thanks, mostly been on the same rum barrel for a month. It's good, but I needed a change!" Skadi declared as she began to drink. Her eyes lit up, being true happy as the cold alcohol went down her throat.

“The alcohol here is okay, but it’s not the best—just strong enough to give me a buzz. I’d rate it a 7 out of 10 for taste,” she said, raising her head. Her ears were folded down, and her hair was a mix of brown with clean patches of white. She turned to look at Skadi. “Oh, mighty oak tree, might I reach the top and see beauty from a new height?” she said.

Skadi looked confused at Samantha. "Uh... what?" questioned the woman, being all she could muster. Skadi was used to being hit on by men and women, many just liking the idea of a taller woman. However, being called an oak tree was a new one - especially by a bunny girl. Skadi took a large gulp from her drink. The confusion washed away as a grin overtook her instead.

"What's your name, bunny? I'm Skadi," asked the girl as she put the cup down. The giantess watched with some interest - the woman was pretty. Skadi assumed she was a partial Mink, but weirder looking people exist without being hybrids.

"Samantha Artemis at your service, but most people just call me Sam or Rabbit, so take your pick! But anyway you cut it, I'm the best. And who might you be?” she said, bowing her head, her ears popping up to point as Skadi provided her full attention.

Skadi snorted as she drank. "Sam, huh? I'm Heidrun Skadi, though some people call me Valkyrie. Though, can't see how you'd be the best if I'm here. Sakikikikiki!" Skadi declared with a laugh. The ever proud girl wasn't about to let a rabbit try and one up her. Skadi picked up and finished the remained of her drink. "What brings you to Fish-Man Island, bunny girl?"

Sam chuckled. “Hey, it’s okay to be number two,” she said before sitting down. “I’m on vacation, I just got a promotion, and I wanted to celebrate where I can hide from my teacher, Persephone, while ranking all the bars in Fishman Island.”

Skadi gave a thumbs up. "Congrats, number two. Barkeep, get her a Fish-Man Iced Tea on me... but uh, her size," Skadi said happily, albeit with a bit of confusion. The fish-man nodded, immediately getting to work. As various glasses clinked about and liquors poured, Skadi kept her focus on Sam.

"So a promotion?" Skadi said, leaning in slightly. At this point, she thought the bunny girl was hitting on her - to which Skadi could have fun with no matter how it went. "What kind of job do you have? Shipwright? Architect? Maybe you moved up in a crew?"

Sam puffed up her chest before grabbing the tea. “I haven’t had this one yet. But I’m a Lieutenant Commander in the Marines, and I did it in just a year. I won’t stop until I reach the top and become Fleet Admiral—just you watch. I’ll change the world,” she said, taking another sip. “What about you? Are you just a traveler?”

"Marines, huh? Skadi said, biting her tongue to stifle a laugh. For a supposed Marine, she was underinformed. Skadi sat before her, a pirate captain and the daughter of a Yonko - Heidrun Thrymr. Skadi knew she was far from the top priority of the Marines, something she was perfectly fine with, but her name was at least fairly known now.

As the urge to laugh died down, Skadi nodded. "Traveler, yeah, something like that. I travel with a group of giants like me and I'm in charge," she said, laughter peppering her words as she was being coy about her crew. "You might have heard of me at some point at least."

Sam was spinning the ice in her cup, a hint of mischief in her eyes. “Of course I know you, Skadi, daughter of one of the most dangerous men on this side of the seas. I’m not stupid,” she said, her voice dropping slightly, “but I’m off duty and don’t want to destroy this bar; these are hallowed grounds.” She gestured dramatically to the rest of the bar, her tone rising with passion. “Lives are celebrated!”

She pointed to a group of fish-men cheering together in one corner, their laughter echoing through the space. “And lives are remembered here,” she continued, her expression softening as she looked to the other end of the bar, where another group sat in somber silence, one extra cup sitting at an empty seat.

“Don’t get me wrong,” she added, her voice filled with determination, “I’d love to kick the ass of a giant, but a friend made me promise to never fight in a bar, and I plan to honor her memory.” her start eyes reflecting into the glass before it held a reflection of Skadi.

Skadi frowned as Sam revealed her ruse. "Suddenly, you're no fun," was all the giantess said as she tapped the bar top, ordering another drink in the process. The new drink came in a remarkably large glass and Skadi lifted it to just as quickly finish it. Slamming it back down, Skadi used her wrist to wipe her mouth.

"I can respect not fighting in a bar, though a good bar fight can be a blast. Let's go outside then! You're off duty and my crew isn't really the type to join in on something like that. Whaddya think, bunny girl?" Skadi grinned. She popped her knuckles in preparation, the giant joints sounding like firecrackers as she did.

Sam finished her drink, a bright smile on her face, and jumped out of her seat. “Most definitely! A fight off the books? Why would I turn that down?” she said, making her way to the door. “Besides, I can brag to the others about my win against a giant later,” she added, patting her muscles.

Skadi scoffed Sam with a laugh. "A fight off the books, sure, but you won't be bragging about any win against me!" Skadi said as she grabbed her hammer and made her way to the door. "Just don't bitch your friends' ears off about how much you hurt when I get done beating you. I'll even be nice, despite you being a Marine, off the books means you don't have the die! Sakikikikiki!" Skadi laughed as she led the woman outside.

Under the Sea[]

Thankfully, despite being fully underwater, the island was spacious and offered areas where disputes could be settled. Skadi rolled her shoulders as she got ready to fight. She doubt it would take long, just something to get Skadi's blood pumping from being on the ship for an extended period. Looking at Sam Skadi slammed her hammer down. "Think I'll start with hands, don't wanna turn you into a stain too fast!"

Sam cracked her knuckles. "After I beat you, don't go running to your crew about someone so small kicking your ass," she said before flying up to Skadi's face, one arm compressed like a spring before releasing it in a right hook.

As the rabbit suddenly appeared before her face, Skadi grinned. Even beyond the jumping power of rabbits, this little bunny had to have great skill to reach her. Skadi allowed the fist to strike her, sending a spray of alcohol down as Skadi's face quickly reformed. "I think I've heard of you Marines being able to fly, pretty awesome!" Skadi declared as her fists were ready to fight just as quickly.

Throwing a punch, Skadi aimed for the body of Samantha. As such, due to Skadi's size, it was like a truck coming at the rabbit woman at high speeds. Skadi's surprising speed would be an annoyance to deal with, but no impossible. "Gonna have to catch me better than that, Sammy!"

Once Sam realized her punch did nothing, she shook the alcohol off her hand. “And I heard that there are fruits called Logias; my mom used to warn me about people like you,” she said before being punched. She then grabbed Skadi's giant fist, sending electro into her hand to try and fight back. She turned her legs into springs to try and push back against Skadi's fist.

Skadi shrugged her shoulders. "Technically, I'm not a Logia, but we aren't splitting hairs. I'm splitting a hare!" Skadi joked as the power of the electricity filled Sam. Skadi was distracted by her joking and wasn't prepared for the rapid attack of the woman. Skadi winced in pain as she was not able to transform into alcohol quickly enough.

Skadi shook her hand to force the rabbit off herself. However, releasing the force against Sam allowed the force of her springs to push her further into Skadi, knocking the giantess back. Falling on her ass, Skadi was suddenly quite annoyed. "You got your own fruit, huh? Springs? How fitting I guess," the giantess said she stood back up. She could easily turn herself into a liquid state and avoid all the attacks of the Marine, but that would be boring.

Instead, Skadi punched the ground with enough force to make a crater. Alcohol streamed off her, filling the crater as she shrunk down to a size more similar to Sam. "Alright, bunny girl, let's see what you got!" Skadi shouted as she swung her hammer, having shrunken with her and her clothes, at Sam. Electricity crackled from it, releasing her own electrical powers at Sam.

Bouncing in place on her springs, Sam laughed as Skadi was knocked on her back. “Careful now! You don’t want to be too clumsy with that size of yours!” she teased, her legs returning to normal as she shook them off. “Yeah, I can become springs. I’m thinking of being known as a Spring Rabbit in the new world!”

She paused for a moment when Skadi punched the ground, watching it crack beneath her. Quickly, she jumped to gain higher ground, her smile widening as she took advantage of Skadi's new size. “The fun begins! How long can you hold that size?!” she shouted, turning her arm into springs and launching a punch aimed at the hammer.

As her arm transformed, it crackled with electricity, planning to create an electrical explosion upon impact. It would hurt, but it would also give her some distance to devise a new attack strategy.

Skadi laughed at the woman’s declaration. “You don’t normally get to choose your own name, Sammy. My dad called me Valkyrie when I was on his crew and it stuck. Grated, I like the name,” Skadi said with a dismissive shrug. However, as Sam attacked with her electrical spraining attack, Skadi quickly swung her hammer to counter the attack.

Electricity crackled for the hammer and shot forth at her. However, as it shrunk with her, it was not longer a massive shield too. As such, Skadi used a stream of alcohol to launch herself sideways, out of the direct path of Sam as she continued to point her hammer at her. The bolt of lightning continued to stream, a powerful bolt of raw electrical energy. “I can keep this size up as long as I want! My fruit is just that fun!"

Sam's spring arm compressed as the hammer attacked, but it also shocked her with its lightning. She jumped, letting the hammer send her flying back as she rushed to grab the back of it. Using the spring in her arms, she was rapidly yanked back toward Skadi, going for a flying drop kick aimed at Skadi's chest. “Good! Then we can have some fun! And what the hell is that thing made of?!” she complained, wiping blood from her nose.

"Hell if I know! Mjolnir will never break!" Skadi happily declared, phasing into alcohol to allow Sam to go right through her. She then began swinging the hammer back to throw it into the pool of booze as she shifted to using her hands. The stories of it in Elbaf suppose it was indestructible. So far, it seemed true as Skadi happily use it's great power for herself. However, sometimes it was more fun to use her own hands - and she would be damned if she allowed Sam to try and grab a hold of it to use.

Readying her fists, Skadi shot forth as a torrent of alcohol to catch the spring woman off guard. "I can move pretty fast with my fruit too! The speed of light beer!" Skadi said as she punched at Sam with a great deal of strength. Even in this diminutive form, her giant strength was still true. As force Sam could muster, Skadi could counter without Haki - at least she believed. "How can you be here and not know Haki yet?" Skadi asked dismissively.

After falling through Skadi, Sam rolled onto her feet and put her hands up, just barely able to register the attack coming her way. Turning her midsection into springs, she was knocked back from the punch. “I never needed it before!” she exclaimed, charging her body with Electro. As she charged back at high speed, a massive discharge of electricity radiated in all directions. “What do you have?” she asked curiously shaking her arm in pain “ Fuck you hit hard!”

“What do I have?” Skadi asked, still ready to fight. “I have enough alcohol in my system to kill an Ancient Giant! I have the Sake Sake no Mi, the alcohol Special Paramecia! And I have the determination of my father. Together, I’m just reckless enough to figure out how to win!” Skadi said as her fists became alcohol. Suddenly, a spray a bullets flew from Skadi.

“Ullr Shot!” Skadi roared as she took several shots at Sam, becoming a rabbit hunter instantly. The shots were trained to maim, not kill, Skadi found Sam fun enough to keep around. However, one wrong jump could kill her. “What about you?” Skadi asked as her hands morphed back to normal. That spring power could become more annoying once Sam became stronger, Skadi wanted to gain her interest for the future.

Sam started backflipping away like a streaking blur before throwing her arm back to grab a piece of the wall, using it as a shield to block the barrage of attacks. She pushed back toward Skadi before punching the alcohol-soaked makeshift shield with Electro, sending electrically charged bolts flying at the giant. Then, she used springs on her arms to shield her face from the Ullr Shot. “I ate the Bane Bane Fruit and can turn into springs! I think it fits me pretty well!”

Skadi's alcoholic body reacted little to the power of Electro. Alcohol, at least forms of it, could be quite poor at conducting. As such, the electricity seemed to have little impact on her. "Electro doesn't work well, your normal attacks don't either. Sam, you're kinda letting me down right now," Skadi said, sounding dissatisfied with the fight. Skadi launched herself forth with a torrent of booze, moving at a rate like a fire hydrant. The annoyance with Sam was she could use the springs to move so fast. As such, Skadi would use her powers to keep up.

Rearing her fist back, Skadi swung at Sam. "Come on bunny girl, make this more interesting!"

Sam was caught off guard by the sudden speed Skadi had. In that split second, Sam transformed her arm into a spring and punched forward with the speedband power of Shigan, hoping Skadi would phase through. She aimed to lower Skadi's guard so she could use Electro to enhance her own physical power. Bringing the springs back together, she ignited her arm, creating a fiery explosion between the two, hoping it would hurt Skadi in some way, knowing it would singe her fur slightly as well. “HOW'S THAT FOR INTERESTING!? Don't need no damn Haki for that shit Hell woman” She gloated.

Skadi beamed as the fire raced to ingulf her, the powerful explosion created by Sam washing over her. However, there was no scream of agony or any pain. Instead, as the main body of fire faded away, Skadi stood lit with flames. "You think people haven't tried to burn me away? I had to learn to adapt! I'll show you this form, but only for a moment! Surtr Grand Spirit!" Skadi gain as he skin darked with Haki, defending her body from the fire.

"You don't know Haki, so I don't wanna be too unfair and beat you with it too quickly," Skadi said as she forced the fire down to her hand, condensing the fire into a powerful inferno. Skadi threw her arm back and a knee up, looking as though she was about to pitch a baseball. Throwing her hand forth, a fireball raced from her hand. As it neared Sam, it burst into a powerful explosion - spraying fire and burning alcohol everywehre.

Sam took a step back, preparing to run. “I can’t run from this attack, or I won't get stronger,” she said with a smile. Her fingers transformed into springs, along with her arms and hands. “Okay then.” She then covered her entire body in electricity, focusing it into her arms and legs, and back flipped toward the fireball, using the ground as an anchor. As she stretched out to meet the attack, she quickly snapped her springs, pulling herself back and sending an electrified gust of wind at the blazing wall in an attempt to dispel it and strike Skadi as well.
