The Dragon-Beast Claws and Fang Three Sword Style is a sword style practiced by skilled members of the Lizard-Men tribe. Practitioners typically wield at least one sword or three, and supplement any missing "sword" with either their tails, claws and fangs.
Overview[]
Often shortened to just the Dragon Beast Sword Style, this form of swordsmanship is the premiere fighting style used by the members of the Lizard-Men tribe to aid in their hunt for Sea Kings. It is characterized by powerful wide swinging arcs meant to slice across large swathes of flesh, and centripetal force to generate even greater power.
The tail of a Lizard-Men is utilized to help not only stabilize many of the movements to allow for an even greater degree of control, but it can also be used to help build tremendous momentum and power. Whether by land or sea the ferocity of this style is unmatched, as skilled practitioners can cleave through the hard carapace of Sea Kings with a single stroke, with the most powerful said to be able to part the seas themselves!
The Dragon Beast Sword Style also uses unique footwork, largely due to the digitigrade feet of the Lizard-Men who have a similar though albeit different stride than ordinary humans. This movement is what also allows them to perform maneuvers that would be extraordinarily difficult for humanoids, though it is no less as swift as the vaunted speed techniques used by pirates and marines.
Lastly, while the Dragon-Beast Sword Style has its own techniques, its practitioners often create their own techniques as they learn to wield the unique power of their Dragon Scale. It is said that in order to truly master the Dragon-Beast Sword Style integrating their skill and mastery of their Dragon Scale power is what will elevate their swordsmanship to its highest level.
Techniques[]
- Beast Claw Maelstrom (爪怪獣大渦巻き Sōkaijū Dai Uzumaki?): The user lunges forward performing a two or three simultaneous slash using their weapons. Using the tail as a counterbalance, many Lizard-Men will throw themselves into a spin as part of using this technique. Doing it this way allows them to turn a single simultaneous slash into several with continuous rotations.
- Dragon Fang Tempest (竜牙嵐 Ryūha Arashi?): A technique that launches compressed air as projectiles to slash the target from afar. For the weaker Lizard-Men hunting Sea Kings this is the preferred technique, especially when used in a group, many will coordinate and launch a combined air slash to slay their prey. Regardless, this technique has many applications and usage's depending on the individual Lizard-Men.
- Beast Kings Crushing Impact (怪獣王撃破衝震駭 Kaijū-Ō Gekiha Shingai?): A defensive technique where the swords are crossed over reach other and drawn back to release a shockwave that acts as a shield against incoming attacks. The technique was designed to defend against large scale attacks as the shockwave emanates outward as a spherical force pushing against attacks that otherwise would be difficult to defend such as poisonous gas, venomous attacks, or other long range attacks. This technique has many variations based on the Lizard-Men's abilities.
- Azure Dragon Rending Hurricane (青竜斬り荒れ Seiryū Aregiri?): A much stronger version of Dragon Fang Tempest, not only the skill required to properly wield this technique but the scope and power is that much greater. Additionally, the compressed air projectiles tend to have unique shapes, and forms with this technique.
- Dragon Dance (龍舞 Ryūmai?): Is a form of high-speed movement utilizing the unique physiology of Lizard-Men, most specifically their unique feet and tails. As their physiology allows for a very agile base, they can more easily shift their center of gravity while utilizing their incredible physical strength to move very rapidly. While in motion they tails appear to move in a wave-like manner giving them the appearance of "dragons dancing" as they move across, the land and sea. Unlike other movements, a Lizard-Men don't need to halt their movement to attack, and can perform this continuous high-speed movement while attacking. This technique when combined with the other techniques are what let them hunt Sea Kings with such impunity.
