Dampier Morgan is a rookie pirate and Captain of the Noblesse Pirates. A member of the Teluris Kingdom’s “Accursed Line”, House Dampier, Morgan faced a lifetime of torment for sins he never understood. Due to this, he decided to travel outside Teluris’ borders, intending on both forging a reputation that will outlast his family’s twisted fame and understand what sins the Dampier Line is guilty of.
Appearance[]
Morgan is a young man with dark hair and sharp silver eyes. He has a lean build and a slim physique.
As a noble, Morgan dresses in fine clothing. He dons a white shirt which he often keeps open, with a black jacket held over his shoulders. He wears red pants with a brown belt, paired with boots with the opposite color scheme, being brown with red belts. He often carries his sword, Basilisk, on his back, and keeps an holster for his gun behind him.

Personality and Relationships[]
Morgan is an eccentric fellow, with a silver tongue and an air of snarkiness to himself. He is a noble at heart, retaining the etiquette, speech pattern and, to an extent, the arrogance befitting of someone of such station. It should be noted, however, that Morgan does not look down on everyone by virtue of being highborn - rather, he sneers at specific people who fail to meet his standards.
A scholar of the arts, Morgan enjoys discussing the deeper meaning of artworks and philosophies, to the point where he often devolves into overanalyzing, forgetting that the simplest interpretation tends to be the most likely to be correct. This also extends into battle, where he often tries to use someone’s way of fighting to “figure them out”.
Philosophically, Morgan is a man shaped by how he was treated in his formative years. In Teluris, he was held in contempt for his family’s unknown “Sin”, which he never received any explanation about. Therefore, Morgan now believes that anyone is responsible solely for their own actions and decisions, and nothing else. He despises the very idea of the father’s sins being passed onto the child, and refuses to be held liable for any action that is not his own.[1] He also has no issue sharing leadership with others so long as he is recognized in proportion to his own contributions and accomplishments.[2]
Morgan believes that resolve is ultimately what decides the winner of a fight, and that the person with the greater resolve is ultimately the one who deserves to keep the spoils.[3] This can even supersede his own personal ambition, giving him a great sense of honor that is especially prevalent in one-on-one fights.[4]
Despite his learned upbringing, or perhaps because of it, Morgan is often naively unaware of how different his life was compared to that of others, as shown when he revealed his father often whipped him as punishment as if it was a normal occurrence.[5]
Abilities and Powers[]
Morgan fights in a rather unique way. He is neither a martial artist, a swordsman, or a sniper, instead being a combination of all three. He mixes together swordplay, marksmanship and hand—to-hand combat (mostly kicks) to be effective in any role or situation, and at any range. While this comes at the cost of the individual power of each role, as Morgan will never be as skilled in each single area as a more specialized fighter at his level, it also means that there is no situation in which he is powerless, making him a true jack-of-all-trades.
Physical Abilities[]
Fittingly enough, Morgan boasts above-average strength, speed, agility and stamina, not excelling particularly in any parameter. This complements his all-rounder skillset.
Weapons Mastery[]
Morgan is skilled in wielding a sword and a gun, using them at the same time to great effectiveness. By exploiting his sword’s Devil Fruit ability, he can use its flexibility and range to strike and maneuver around in ways a normal swordsman cannot.
Cooking Expertise[]
Having grown up with access to a vast array of ingredients thanks to Teluris' naturally fertile lands, Morgan taught himself the art of cooking via experimentation and a healthy dose of trial and error. While not trained traditionally in anything aside from etiquette in serving, he is nonetheless a highly capable chef with an array of unique and invigorating receipts he can prepare.
Equipment[]
Basilisk[]
- Main article: Basilisk
Morgan’s weapon of choice is Basilisk, a Wazamono-Ranked longsword that “ate” the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Monocled Cobra. He acts as both his pet and main weapon. Basilisk can infuse his blade with venom, which causes the victim to have difficulty moving and suffer great pain in large enough dosages. As well, by transforming into his hybrid form and wrapping around Morgan’s arm, Basilisk can extend his effective range and behave much like a kusarigama.
Guns[]
Alongside Basilisk, Morgan uses a black and red six shot revolver to defend himself when his blade is separated from him, or to provide sustained ranged support at ranges where Basilisk cannot.
