Castle Vein is a floating castle serving as the residence, and method of travel of Mad Grinn across the Grand Line. It once served as the home of Penumbra Kingdom's royal family.[1]
During the War of Empires, as the Doomsday Alliance sieged the country for 10 days, Castle Vein's true power was shown for the first time in over a century. Acting as a mobile fortress that confronted the nation's enemies on the front lines, the castle was then used to refuge thousands of citizens thay had been ravaged by Mad Plague's bio-weapons during the conflict.

Castle Vein is an engineering marvel and structural masterpiece that was constructed over a century ago. It combined Penumbra's unique architectural design, with advanced engineering designs that allowed the castle to be piloted and controlled. Towers could be raised, moved or replaced, halls could be added or expanded, and the castle itself could move to face any direction, among other things.
It's most intriguing aspect is its ability to levitate and travel through the air, greatly in part to the capabilities of Penumbra's resource, Dark Stone.
