Bluto Harold is a Captain in the Marines and considered to be one of the most harsh within his rank. Earning himself the alias Brutus from his men and enemies, he openly accepted the titles as a mark of authority. He is a strong advocate in the effort to eliminate Pirates. He is a strict believer of Marine Law and upheld Absolute Justice as the best solution to remove any threat to the World Government. After he taught Blackburn Berry though, his beliefs on cruelty have softened with a far more tolerant but still zealous form of Barbaric Justice.
He has so far operated in the incident on Rockbell Island, and Several Operations during his tenure as Berry's instructor. After his fight with Spliter Axel, he decided that he needed to strengthen the efforts to stop Piracy in Paradise and operated there for several months before returning to the New World during operations on Drumlil Island.

Bluto Harold is a man of imposing stature as he is large and broad. He has a rather prominent arms and chest. Under his uniform, he has several sailor tattoos and light hair on his chest. His hair and beard look sharp, giving his silhouette a distinct and intimidating shadow.

Bluto Harold is brutal and duty bound individual. He has a lacking moral compass willing to do things for his superiors no matter the cruelty it requires. Bluto considers himself to be refined despite his barbaric approach to treason and criminals. However he sees no issue in cruelly punishing those who defy the World Government, if anything he considers his actions to be fair.
He's has a short temper which has led to even his own men, fearing repercussion for slighting him. He takes pride in the titles and names his men give him behind his back. Bluto is also just as sharp with words as he is in action. He takes great pleasure in deconstructing and tearing apart his opponents verbally. In summary, Bluto is a heinous bastard.

Blackburn Berry[]
Blackburn Berry is the once pupil of Bluto, and in many ways, the Marine's adopted daughter. He'd never admit that he cares about Berry from a familial stand point, but her time with him has swayed him to soften as a captain and refuse to drink out of generally improving his wellbeing and setting a better example. He taught Berry the basics of Busoshoku Haki, and played a part in her leaving her initial base on Goldfish Island.
Corindon Cyan[]
Coridon Cyan is an old compatriot for Bluto's early Career, while Bluto is several years older than the now Vice Admiral the two have gone back quiet a ways operating in similar theaters during the years 1609-1614. Bluto considers Cyan to be his superior despite his harsh nature, as she is a reminder of what he could be if he hadn't spun his wheels and became too barbaric. An honest soul that understands his mindset, but has found success.

Bluto is a Marine Captain with conviction who while lacking the tools to face the threats of the New World, is in search of ways to improve himself so that his self-justified brutality may prevail. His durability and raw strength are his key attributes, however he also has a good mind for strategy being just as much tact as he is muscle. As a captain among the Marines he does hold jurisdiction over any seaman below him, commanding a threating respect from his men.

Bluto is a brute who is proficient in ground control. He prefers using grappling to sweep, throw, and takedown his opponent. While he may be a principled fighter, he is not afraid to put his target into an unescapable submission that he will take advantage of mercilessly. He also knows how to throw a nasty haymaker, although it lack elegance.
Over his time in the Marines, Bluto developed a variety of CQC techniques to take advantage of his opponents mistakes. Beyond Strikes and Grapples, he implements variants that encapsulate Hana-barbarism.

Bluto ate the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Shoebill while he held the rank of Petty Officer. With it he gained the ability of flight, and a beak that can ensnare body parts. While Bluto is not the fastest flier in hybrid or animal forms, his avian form does offer him a sizable stature and a strong beak for intimidation and defense.
Haki[]
Bluto is proficient in Haki to a degree, having the basics of Busoshoku Haki. However due to a lack of motivation for threats that required more than his strength and devil fruit, he's lacked drive to improve. With the surge in rookies though, he's starting to push himself to develop such necessary techniques.
During the events of Cold Encounter, Bluto awakened Haki/Kenbunshoku Haki after experiencing the Haki/Haoshoku Haki of Gladius Caesar which almost made him faint on the spot. With this awakening he has gained new insights and abilities at the cost of personal shame for it's origins. [3]
Busoshoku Haki[]
Bluto gained access to Busoshoku Haki through instruction under his captain and his continued efforts to stop pirate raids during his early career. He's refined the basic techniques to enough of understanding that he has gone on to teach several Marines the fundamentals.[4] [5]
Kenbunshoku Haki[]
Bluto recently awakened his Kenbunshoku Haki, and is unrefined in it's methods. However through experimentation prior and during Little Lion Men he's learned Presence and Power sensing. [6]
Rokushiki[]
Bluto gained Rokushiki from his long service in the Marines. He never learned all forms of the technique deciding to instead iterate on the lessons he learned and gain specializations in techniques that he felt best suited his approach, Bluto currently knows Geppo, Soru, Tekkai, and Shigan
Special Techniques[]
- Kamisori: Bluto uses a combination of Geppo and Soru to allow himself to move in diagonal direction while mid air, allowing him 3D movement. He prefers to use this technique while in Hybrid or Full Form.
- Beak Cannon: Bluto uses the large beak he gain when using his hybrid or full form in unison with Shingan to strike people and object with shattering force. The lager surface reduced penetration, but increase the blunt damage caused by a strike. When paired with Busoshoku Haki, this technique can cause incredible trauma.
- Tekkai, Spirit Cross: Crossing his arms in the shape of an X, Bluto takes a strong stance. Stacking the abilities of Busoshuki Haki with the hardening of his musculature, Bluto has formed a formidable defense to can bounce and reflect projectiles with ease, while defending his vital organs.

Past[]
Before Harold was born, there were three long-time friends. Castor, Brunus, and Hamlin. The three were all raised in a port town in the East Blue. Castor and Brunus had been the trio's most adventurous, with Hamlin being the sound of mind. They all had grand adventures, but they would take different paths in life when the time came. Brunus and Hamlin would marry and have Jeeve and Harold. Brunus would become a marine, while Castor sought a life of piracy. The two had gotten into an argument and fought over it, but neither had the guts to capture or kill the other. So, Castor left the East Blue for seventeen years.
One day, when Brunus returned from a tour, Castor appeared on his doorstep ill and injured. Castor, in his lengthy career, had made a name for himself written in the blood of dead men. Brunus considered turning his old friend away, but guilt and nostalgia for their youth blinded the aging marine officer. Hamlin also stuck with Brunus on his decision to care for their sickly friend. Harold, now seventeen, despised his father's actions harboring a fugitive of the law. Harold saw his father's love for a dying friend foolish, especially as harboring Castor risked his career and family. Brunus tried to assure his son, but that confidence was ill-placed.
Marines came to Brunus knowing of his connection to Castor and demanded to see if he was housing a pirate. Brunus, fearing for his friend, refused to concede. But, fearing for his family's fate, Harold would not let his father throw their lives away. He stormed into Castor's room and grabbed the sickly pirate by the collar of his shirt, dragging him out into the street. When his father tried to stop him, Harold didn't hesitate to bash his father in the face and leave his old man battered. Castor died in a cell, Brunus dishonorably discharged, and Harold went on to join the Marines and work to stomp out the blight of piracy upon the world.
As he climbed the ranks he was disowned by his father, who while still loving him, could not bear to see him turn into an unsympathetic man who imprisoned several weak pirates and even several members of Castor's old crew. Harold considered himself to be only doing what was right in protecting people from conniving pirates. He told himself that what he had done that day was what was best for everyone. Harold was shaped by his doctrine, and limited world view. He would only be spurred on as he witness a ruthless crew of pirates brutally torture civilians one of these pirates even scarring his face when he was captured for a time. Eventually he was rescued but after being subjected to 4 months of servitude it changed Harold. He considered that if pirates could be so barbaric then it was only appropriate to show them no mercy.
As a Petty officer he was afforded the opportunity to eat a devil fruit after a successful assault as a commanding officer in a chaotic raid. This was a pivotal moment for the young man as he ate the Pirate crew's spoil and went on to use his new abilities to climb to the rank of captain through devoted brutality.
