Benjamin Clementine also known by his epithet Black Sword, is an aspiring young pirate roaming the second half of the Grand Line alone, on a quest to acquire the title of "Strongest Swordsman in the World". Originating from the Yukiryu Island, Clementine grew up under a blacksmith father, who was once locally famous for his creations, before his death. His father's death is what pushed him into setting sail in the first place, and it took him no time to get himself in trouble and become a wanted man by the World Government.
As a pirate, Clementine always found himself in dire situations, challenging those who are far stronger than he is, yet always coming out of it with his life intact. But he quickly became known within the world for his special sword, as he held a sword made from the remains of a dead dragon, or so the myth states. This sword is entirely black, and while its blade is made out of refined obsidian, the hilt and handle are completely made of black dragon bones. This granted Clementine the epithet "Black Sword" among pirates, then to be adopted by the World Government as well.
For his crimes both against the World Government and their territories, and his fights against other pirates of high status, Clementine has a bounty of 200,000,000 on his head.
Appearance[]
Clementine is a very fit, yet thin built young man with light skin and a somewhat tall statue, standing almost at two meters in height. He has the appearance of a royal, short slick golden hair, sharp eyes, and handsome facial features. He wears plain clothing, as he prioritizes his comfort and the ability to move freely over looking good. Yet, despite that, he still looks as sharp and clean as royals do with his plain grey shirt with black pants.
Beneath his clothes, Clementine hides a body with countless scars spread all over it, some of which are inflicted by the many strong individuals he had challenged, and many others are inflicted by his own father during their training.

Personality[]
Clementine has a laid back personality, he can be described as casual, pompous, and is easily capable of being happy enjoying the little things in life. Living by a code of honor and morality, which was bestowed upon him by his own father, Clementine does his best to honor his father's teachings, despite it contradicting his own whims in a lot of cases. Clementine is unpredictable, stubborn, fearless and slightly unhinged when he's too excited. Despite this, he is still a kind, intelligent, compassionate and friendly individual, unless provoked.
Honoring the code of morality that his father bestowed upon him, Clementine holds himself to extreme high standards. He's extremely loyal to those he deems as his friends, and he strongly believes in trust, honesty, loyalty, and whenever he would give his word to someone, he would go to extreme length to keep it, as he is a man of his word. Yet, unlike his father, Clementine has no respect for human life, as he believes deeply in natural selection. Which while this might sound bad, he wouldn't get out of his way to take a life, but if he were to be the reason of someone's death, he wouldn't feel remorse over it.
He is known for speaking his mind, uncaring of what others might think, feel or react to his words. And naturally, Clementine very rarely has tolerance for those who break their words to him or betray him, as he would go to great lengths to torment and possibly kill those who betray him.

Clementine is quite powerful as someone who seeks challenges all across the world, daring to clash against all types of people, whether they be criminals like himself, marine admirals, emperor commanders, and even if he had the chance to fight against emperors themselves. But aside from his individual strength, Clementine doesn't have any influential powers as he sails solo, he doesn't have a crew nor does he belong or affiliate with any organizations. This while allows for a much larger room for freedom at sea, it makes him less of a threat in the eyes of the World Government, as they see him more like an inconvenience at best.
Physical Abilities[]
As an experienced fighter, and as a unique character who goes after anyone who he deems as a challenge. Clementine had to go through years of both training, and actual physical combat, and he has the scars to prove it. Standing way above average regarding physical prowess, Clementine is able to fight and survive almost anything, as he clashed against many of the most dangerous people in this world, and he not only survived to tell the tale, but also plans on clashing with them again. This along with his own personality or mindset creates a beast that can't be tamed or scoffed at, as Clementine would never shy away from a fight, no matter who his opponent is.
And just like every skill in this life, the more you practice it, the better you perfect it. Clementine is a genius at battle, he's extremely smart when it comes to using the environment, whatever he has on himself, and even his own opponent's attacks and moves, in order to win a fight. Which is something only truly experienced warriors are able to do, which had to become, since he doesn't have a devil fruit power, unlike many of his opponents.
This also highly enhances his senses, and makes him to be a great swordsman, as he rises up in the world, challenging those who are at the top of this era. Yet, as seen in many of his fights, Clementine still has a long path to walk. As the path of a swordsman never reaches any ends, it simply expands on new horizons.

Clementine uses a unique fighting style that he developed himself, a one sword fighting style that utilizes intense emotions to alter the user's body physically. This fighting style allows the user to harness their emotions, transforming them into physical prowess, which split into two different modes.
Fortress Mode, which allows Clementine to harness his negative emotions, such as anger, hatred, and sorrow, to alter his physical attributes, granting himself a tank build, with incredibly strong defensive capabilities as well as offensive capabilities. Usually, this mode is portrayed with red aura around Clementine's body, and his techniques are also portrayed in red colors.
Zephyrus Mode, which allows Clementine to harness his positive emotions, such as happiness, joy and excitement, to alter his physical attributes, granting himself a speedster build, with incredible speed and agility. Allowing him to move elegantly as if his body is weightless, evade attacks with ease and strike with incredible precision. Usually, this mode is portrayed with blue aura around Clementine's body, and his techniques are also portrayed in blue colors.
