Beginner's Abyss, also known as the End of Rookie (新人の終わり, Shinjin no Owari?) is a somewhat infamous prison in the early stages of Paradise and the Grand line under the control of the World Government. By being strategically placed at the beginning of the Grand Line, its purpose is to hamper the growth of rookie pirates early on in order to keep the seas under control. As such it is a maximum-security prison; but it isn't anything special like Impel DOwn.
Overview[]
Beginner's Abyss is a grand prison with impenetrable walls stretching all over the lands of the island it is located on. The ports are heavily guarded, and the island itself is a host to deadly species of animals, should the prisoners escape. Since its purpose is the hamper the growth of rookies, prisoners are typically used for labor and worked to the brim in workshops to prevent them from growing stronger. Other then that, it is a relatively normal prison, certainly less extreme then its big brother Impel Down.
Geography[]
The prison is located a medium-sized oasis island, with a mix of sandy desert scenery and tropical scenery. It is plastered with palm trees, and its land is fertile and prime for farming. It's known for its beautiful mountains and rocky canyons, stretching far and wide throughout the land. The northern and eastern part (where the prison is located) tends to have more fertile, green land, while the southern and western ends are more like a desert, but there scattered with palm trees and some foliage. As such, these parts are sparsely populated and have less buildings, save for the outposts scattered about.
Layout[]
The prison's buildings are similar to the architecture of castles and forts. Comparable to the buildings seen in kingdoms like Dressrosa or the Goa Kingdom; a simple yet sturdy decision. Towers are planted throughout the prison, and deep in the island lay outposts to patrol for any prisoners who have escaped. The prison has several buildings, 2 floors in each one, and a large basement. Most buildings feature quarters and offices for the staff to reside in.
