Augustine, born Jacques De Augustine, and nicknamed "August", is a recent addition to the Marines. He is a Philosopher and Martial Artist from the West Blue, who holds the rank of Seamen Recruit.

Augustine stands at an impressive 195 cm, his body reflecting his rigorous training since a young age with a muscular and well-defined build. August's face is characterized with striking features, his sharp jawline and high cheekbones give him a distinctive and solid appearance. He has dark skin accented with a healthy glow, primarily due to his culture and natural remedies caring for his skin. August's brown eyes are always filled with contemplation, suggesting a man who often reflects deeply on life and its mysteries. Despite this, his gaze is typically calm and composed, making him seem approachable despite his size. To round out his unique features, his hands possess distinctive tattoos: a sun on the palm of his right hand and a moon on the palm of his left. August has marked his body with reminders of balance, as the sun and moon are akin to Yin and Yang.
Augustine’s clothing reflects his practical nature and unique style. He wears a buttoned white Marine shirt under a Gi wrap that leaves one shoulder bare, showcasing his muscular build. The wrap is secured with a belt that holds various pouches and tools, including an ocarina that is rarely visible and a scroll fixed to his belt. Augustine is a man of principle, guided by his belief in Philosophical Justice (哲学的正義 - Tetsugaku-Teki Seigi). He frequently quotes philosophical texts and the teachings of Guru Istiva, using these insights to navigate his everyday life. Though he is not a pacifist and finds interest in combat, he feels a deep connection towards the monks of Mount Kailash and is an avid follower of their ways. Particularly their worship towards Istiva and their disregard towards the idea of nations and politics. At times, this can put him at odds with his people due to him not believing in pacifism as he takes action when necessary, especially to uphold justice and protect the innocent. He adheres to strict ideals and values, which is also shown as he often attempts to peacefully impose his views on others. However, this has led to his subconscious forming a practice of selective hearing, as he has a habit of ignoring commands or conversations that don’t align with his beliefs. Despite his seemingly detached exterior, Augustine possesses a deep compassion for others. His empathy allows him to connect with others on a meaningful level, understanding their struggles and motivations. He is always willing to lend a helping hand or offer guidance, especially to those in need. This is supported by his career choice as he has recently decided to enlist in the Marines, backed by his own personal sense of Justice.
Despite his age, Augustine often takes on a mentor role, especially for those who seek wisdom and guidance. His philosophical insights and calm demeanor make him an excellent advisor, though his tendency to speak in quotes or riddles can sometimes confuse his mentees.

He remains steadfast and composed, whether he is guiding a new student or dealing with hearing the challenges of Stormfront. This stoic approach helps him maintain composure under pressure and make well-considered decisions.
Once committed to a course of action based on his beliefs, Augustine is exceedingly stubborn and resistant to changing his mind, even in the face of compelling evidence. His strict adherence to his philosophical ideals can make him inflexible, often leading him to overlook practical solutions in favor of idealistic ones. Despite his eagerness to learn from Jun Jie, he refuted the man's claims of the history of his world due to its contradictory nature when compared to what August was taught since birth.
He seems to have some kind of connection towards animals and nature, often communicating with animals through subtle gestures. During his time in the Wuxia Kingdom, he refrained from using his destructive powers to preserve the habitat of the creatures that lived there.
