The Ars Goetia, often simplified as just the Goetia, is a powerful pirate crew stationed in the New World and captained by Caribert Lysandre, the Sovereign of Blight.

The Ars Goetia, rather fittingly given its unorthodox nomenclature, sports a mysterious seal as its Jolly Roger, made of bizarre runes and symbols.
Overview[]
While a pirate crew for all intents and purposes, the Ars Goetia as a whole considers itself to be more akin to a cabal of scientists. They scour the seas, looking for test subjects on which to test their theories without any regard for the law, ethics, or their victims' say on the matter. While their captain, named the Empyrean, strives to attain a complete and utter understanding of life itself, not all active members of the Goetia are biologists, but many of them are scientists whose research cannot continue within the constraints of the law.
Inside the Goetia, every member interested enough in the sciences to do so is able to pursue their own research with as many of the crew's resources as they'd like as long as they do not directly interfere with another member's, or their experiments put the crew's survival in jeopardy by either costing too much or being way too dangerous. The crew is also active in the criminal underworld, offering their findings up to whoever pays them the most.
The Empyrean coordinates the crew's scientific endeavors and ensures that the Goetia as a whole can continue existing, having absolute authority on what resources go to which researcher and being able to shut down experiments and lifetimes' worth of researches on a whim.

- Their Jolly Roger is a recreation of the Goetic Seal of Solomon.
- The name of their vessel, Key of Caribert, alludes to the Lesser Key of Solomon and the name of the crew's Empyrean, Caribert Lysandre.
